Petros Posted December 12, 2014 Report Posted December 12, 2014 Apologies if this is obvious, I didn't see it in recent posts. With the AM thighs, what is the suggestions on the return edges, both the top and the bottom. I haven't cut the back yet so now is the time before i go too far. thanks Peter Quote
jannick Posted December 12, 2014 Report Posted December 12, 2014 I'm fairly sure thighs shouldn't have return-edges... That would hurt like christmas, I'd imagine.. Best advice: Post a couple of pictures, and wait for an AM-expert to chime in Quote
DarkTrooper[TK] Posted December 12, 2014 Report Posted December 12, 2014 Check out Pandatrooper's AM armor build. It's the best I've seen http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/10434-pandatroopers-am-build-threadam/ Pandatrooper's ANH style thighs (AM armor) http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/13513-anh-thigh-tops-on-am-armor-craziness/?p=163480&hl=thigh%20tops&fromsearch=1#entry163480 various discussions on return edges http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26358-return-edges/?hl=%2Breturn+%2Bedges#entry332473 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/24538-thigh-greave-questions/?hl=%2Breturn+%2Bedges http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/18216-return-edges/?hl=return+edges#entry218326 http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/17245-return-edge/?hl=return+edges#entry208902 Quote
gazmosis[501st] Posted December 12, 2014 Report Posted December 12, 2014 The return edges on the armor parts were there to give the appearance of thickness. The tops of the thighs should have return edges. The bottoms by the boots, no. Quote
TriumphTrooper8[501st] Posted December 12, 2014 Report Posted December 12, 2014 I ended up without due to the fact of trial and error with how well things would work out after my first troop why do all that and have to trim more off possibly? In the end I think in my case it worked well and had no issue with looks without return edges I am going to leave it alone. Quote
Petros Posted December 13, 2014 Author Report Posted December 13, 2014 Brilliant than you, going to keep the return edge at the top for effect, and remove from the bottom without loosing the effect. ozz[501st] Posted December 13, 2014 Report Posted December 13, 2014 But I would suggest you make the edge by the boots nice, smooth and rounded. You don't want the sharp edges cutting into your expensive boots... Quote
