devilmaan[TK] Posted March 2, 2015 Author Report Posted March 2, 2015 I have seen a couple of builds that have the notch on the kidney plate on one side and both. Which is correct? Quote
The5thHorseman[501st] Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 Both sides should be notched at the bottom. Quote

gazmosis[501st] Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 Double check your shoulder bells, though. Don;t let those wander too far from the ribbed bridges. 1 Quote
devilmaan[TK] Posted March 11, 2015 Author Report Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) I agree! They are hanging pretty far. I think I have to extended the shoulder bell to bicep strap and then shorten the shoulder bell strapIn the picture below, can I open up the gap between the back and kidney? I have a long torso and it would make it a lot more comfortable...... In the crotchal region lolSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited March 11, 2015 by devilmaan 1 Quote
Tusken RTT Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) Could you lengthen the straps between the kidney and the butt piece, rather than the back? That way it would be hidden by the belt, but you would be way more comfortable. Edited March 11, 2015 by Tusken RTT 1 Quote
devilmaan[TK] Posted March 11, 2015 Author Report Posted March 11, 2015 I was of the impression that there isn't supposed to be a gap between the kidney and the butt piece, but I see what you are saying... keeps the gap a little more hidden. I have to do something because there's going to be some heavy chaffing going on if I don't do something LOL btw I am going to be following your Shim thread for my shim job I am starting today, Scott. Excellent work!!!! 1 Quote
Tusken RTT Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 Good deal! Also check out Haribon's thread; he nailed it with a little different technique! http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26001-haribon72s-anh-stormtrooper-ne-hero-build/page-8 Quote
devilmaan[TK] Posted March 11, 2015 Author Report Posted March 11, 2015 I'll check it out I haven't seen that thread! Thanks! Quote
devilmaan[TK] Posted March 11, 2015 Author Report Posted March 11, 2015 Just curious if there is another glue besides zap-a-gap CA glue that will work with latex hand guards well? Quote
Tusken RTT Posted March 11, 2015 Report Posted March 11, 2015 In the for sale run threads, the one for the hand guards, she list's a glue that works great. Sorry I cant remember what it's called, and it's a long thread. Quote
devilmaan[TK] Posted March 12, 2015 Author Report Posted March 12, 2015 (edited) There was no way of getting around shimming the kidney plate. So, tonight I set up and glued the inside cover strip. Tomorrow I will glue the actual shim Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited March 12, 2015 by devilmaan Quote
devilmaan[TK] Posted March 12, 2015 Author Report Posted March 12, 2015 I made some extra large kidney shims and gave them a slight bend with the heat gun. I won't have to use the whole shim. I figured i would get a better measurement to glue the shim to the kidney and then I would know exactly how big they need to be Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Tusken RTT Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 Smart move on the bend; see if you need to also bend the inner shim as well before you attach them. It's going to look great! Quote
