sskunky Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 (edited) Hi guys and gals..... I think I have just managed to find a good belt material for the ROTJ. As we all know this seems to be one of the hardest parts to get on the armour..... Blaster too of course but I am working on that... Here is what I have found.... It's a special order but it is polypro and 2.5" and white! everything a ROTJ trooper needs.... LMK what you all think... Edited June 15, 2021 by gmrhodes13 photos updated gmrhodes13 2021 1 Quote
Tolo[TK] Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 Man, I have rolls of these at work lol Sent from my iPhone 6 using Tapatalk Quote
sskunky Posted October 16, 2014 Author Report Posted October 16, 2014 Well that's a first. No one has found a suitable belt until I posted this. I've just spent $300 on a bulk order of the stuff. Other than firehose this is the closest I've found in all the years ive been looking. 2.5" in white is the hardest width to get for some reason. I had to special order this. Anyway it's what I'll be using on my suits from now on. Quote
Tolo[TK] Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 (edited) I did not know what was the material (for ROTJ). As we speak, I'm on a job and currently using black webbing like that. Is it a single webbing or is it hollow? Sent from my iPhone 6 using Tapatalk Edited October 16, 2014 by Tolo Quote
troopermaster Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 (edited) I don't think the belts were made from tubular webbing. The real belts were very thick. Not sure if you have seen this photo but look how rigid the belt is on the armour on top of the box. Looks like fire hose to me. sskunky Posted October 16, 2014 Author Report Posted October 16, 2014 (edited) Thanks Paul, I have seen that pic it's a great picture. That looks as rigid as courlene which is used for military belts..... It's almost plastic in it texture.... I have firehose here but cannot get it to lie flat. It still looks very tubular and is black on the inside... At least the white firehose I have is. Cost me £180 for a length of firehose.... I can't imagine they would use such expensive material? Could be wrong. Whereas this one looks more like what I have found.... Edited June 15, 2021 by gmrhodes13 photos updated gmrhodes13 2021 2 Quote
troopermaster Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 You must have the wrong kind of hose. I have some that is flat. It's not actually fire hose as that is red. It's high pressure PVC hose with a nylon coating. The armour in the photos you posted in not movie armour so they may used something else for the belts. Hard to say, really. Does your webbing hold itself up like in the photo I posted? Quote
sskunky Posted October 16, 2014 Author Report Posted October 16, 2014 Is it tour armour in the pic I posted? I haven't looked that closely at it it was sent to me the other day. No my material doesn't stand up like in the pic you posted. I meant I had some corlene military belt material that did. Quote
TK Droid[TK] Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 What were you using before this Mark? Quote
sskunky Posted October 17, 2014 Author Report Posted October 17, 2014 A cotton version...I Couldn't find a decent alternative to fire hose until I found this 2.5" Polypro webbing. I'll have loads available if you want to upgrade at any point. Quote
elleerre Posted October 19, 2014 Report Posted October 19, 2014 (edited) One OT question... According to this picture, is it right to suppose that the chest plate and the back plate were kept together joined with a black strap (under the arm)? If yes, is this valid for both ANH and ROTJ or only for the ROTJ version in the picture? Thanks, Lorenzo Edited June 15, 2021 by gmrhodes13 photos updated gmrhodes13 2021 Quote
sskunky Posted October 19, 2014 Author Report Posted October 19, 2014 For ROTJ it will be correct looking at this pic. You can't base anything ANH on this. Quote
TATTOOEDTROOPER[TK] Posted October 30, 2014 Report Posted October 30, 2014 I would be interested in this. Quote
