Before I glue this in place, does it look right?

I'm having a hard time getting it in a position where it looks right, won't interfere with my thigh armor, follows the contour of the shin tops, and has a decent amount of area to glue.

I put a shim behind it in the center. It's about 1/2" thick, just behind the clamp.  I have a very small return edge on the bottom. Maybe 1/8".

That position looks good. I have mine glued so the front is more parallel with the front strip. I had the same problem you are having though. The worst part is I'm short so it gets caught up under the thigh armor alot. If you make sure that it's glued nice and tight against that shim you should be fine.

Thanks. I marked it with a pencil, took off the clamps, then glued it in place and clamped it again.

Sometimes you look at these things too closely for too long and you start to lose focus.  If I've learned anything so far, it's "When in doubt, take pictures and ask for advice."

I know exactly what you mean. It's like anything else. You find it when you stop looking.

put some foam at the back of the thigh, it helps. and some at the front of the shin.  reduces knee pop.

Gonna put some in and give this a try. The "pop" drove me nuts all day saturday. Thanks vern.
