Frown Mesh - Material and Method

Hey Troopers,

 

I'm about ready to install some frown mesh, but having a hard time finding guidance. Did you do frown mesh? What did you use and how did you attach it? I've got some fiberglass screen that looks like it will work, but is that what I should use? How best to attach it?

I bought a bucket that came with the mesh, I just attached it with black electrical tape.

I had some mesh at work, it looks like the same material that is used on a screen door.

(The one that is made of plastic and pet friendly).

You can use general vinyl screen door mesh or a heavier pet resistant mesh. Either one can be permanently bonded with strategic drops of superglue

Or in case the superglue won't stick to the White plastic, you can use plumbers putty.

Knead some small blobs, put them around and between the openings and press in the mesh.

cool - thanks! I never thought of plumber's putty! Does it stay for a long time? What happens to it after a long time? It seems like something you could remove at some point if you wanted, which sounds appealing...

Can you believe for a while I just used blue painters tape? No one can see it, so it's not a big deal. I've also simply used hot glue.

Well, actually the stuff I used is some kind of two component stuff. It hardens out after 5 minutes and is rock hard.

Great ideas and methods - thanks! I ended up just using some hot glue and fiberglass window screen for now - seems like something I could 'undo' if I wanted at some point.
