Guest tkjake032 Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 Hi there I'm new to FISD and need some help finding the right set of armor. I'm 6'2 and around 230 pounds but losing weight. I need to know what set of armor would work for me. Quote
Raintrooper Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 Read, read, read, reasearch, research, research! That's about half of this hobby. Here's the thread to start with... http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/ 1 Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 Hello and welcome aboard, getting started section will help Quote
MotioN Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 Yup go to that getting started link, there's a list of reputable venders and wether the sets are fan sculpted or have movie origins. Also gives you a rough idea of what body type they are good for! Quote
F1guy Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 My suggestion is to NOT buy armor right away. Wait a bit, and research. There's a lot of options available. I myself haven't bought a set yet, but I'm playing with helmets to get used to how the hobby works. Play around, read, and figure out what works for you. Before I started reading, I didn't know an FX from an AP, from an ATA. Learn, absorb. Welcome by the way. Quote

Once you decide on your armour watch videos or read build threads so you know what you are doing, you can learn all sorts of tricks that make life a lot easier haha. Quote
Sly11[Admin] Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 G'day and welcome aboard. As has been said above, research is your best friend in this hoby. Ask as many questions as you can, as we are all here to help, and a very wise piece of advice that was given to me when I first came on board. Measure twice, cut once. Good luck on your quest and enjoy the journey it's loads of fun. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
