Amish Trooper Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 That picture is pretty dark but Scott would be judge I guess. Quote
Apollo Posted March 12, 2008 Author Report Posted March 12, 2008 I can stick up a brighter one tomorrow if need be. I just don't want to go any farther with the helmet if this is wrong Quote
Scott M.[TK] Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 Based on what I see, I would say yes. Here are some screen caps for the Elite standards (many may not know Paul added all these reference photos!!!) ESB Elite reference pics Enjoy!!! Quote
Apollo Posted March 12, 2008 Author Report Posted March 12, 2008 Cool, good to see all those reference pics! This is what I was using for reference Quote
Scott M.[TK] Posted March 12, 2008 Report Posted March 12, 2008 Excellent. not to be too picky, but you will need some brow trim, lenses, pain on the chin, mic tips,.............. I kid, I kid!! Looks good so far!!! Quote
Apollo Posted March 12, 2008 Author Report Posted March 12, 2008 Excellent. not to be too picky, but you will need some brow trim, lenses, pain on the chin, mic tips,.............. I knew there was something I forgot! Quote
Darth_Finger Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Are all the ESB frowns connected? Some of the pics looks like they are separate like the ANH helmets. Quote
troopermaster Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 ESB teeth are painted individually like ANH, but black. Quote
Apollo Posted March 30, 2008 Author Report Posted March 30, 2008 helmet looks pretty much the same. I had it finished before, but I decided to redo it so I stripped it and repainted white and all. Right now it's just got aerators, from and bottom neck trim in. I'll be jumping on a source for ESB decals soon, I need a rounded brush for the frown (thanks for the tip from your tutorial, 4510), I'll need new lenses, and I need to paint the ears to complete the outside. I'm working on a couple other things at the same time so this baby hasn't been getting all the attention that it deserves. Quote
Darth_Finger Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 How did you strip the paint? What helmet maker is this one from? Quote
Apollo Posted March 30, 2008 Author Report Posted March 30, 2008 I didn't actually strip the paint. I basically stripped everything else: lenses, cooling system, brow trim, frown mesh, aerators, etc. I ended up just painting over the previously handpainted detailing in the tears, traps, chin, ears, and frown, and now I'll have to just repaint some of those and add decals for the rest. I don't actually know the maker since I got it second hand. Quote
Apollo Posted April 15, 2008 Author Report Posted April 15, 2008 Got all of the handpainted stuff done, the hovi's installed, and the lenses are in. All it needs now are the decals, then I can put the brow trim back on, and then mesh behind the frown. Quote
riveting Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 Just wondered if there was any progress on this it was coming along very nicely Quote
Apollo Posted May 19, 2008 Author Report Posted May 19, 2008 sorry, I haven't been able to do much while waiting for 4510's awesome decals so I've been working on other non-TK stuff. Once they get here I'll stick them on and replace the brow trim. The it will be aesthetically complete and I'll be able to move onto the inside Quote
FON Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 That there is a TE1 bucket Apollo.. if you were interested to know Quote
Apollo Posted May 22, 2008 Author Report Posted May 22, 2008 cool, good to know. How can you tell? Quote
Apollo Posted May 28, 2008 Author Report Posted May 28, 2008 Just got Mike's stickers in today and they're fantastic. I loved how sticky they actually were because they were very secure, but easy enough to pull up to readjust if needed. My only problem was that they were sometimes too larger. My left tubestripe was too big and so was my left tear. Nevertheless, they look fantastic on the helmet and I'm very glad to have gotten them. Quote
