zeroskillz Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 Okay so I finally stopped staring in fear at all the pieces of white plastic and put together a bicep...how's it look? I haven't added the cover strips yet, just in case I did something horrilbly wrong. Quote
fuumantroop[TK] Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 Looks like a tight fit from what I can see. did you cut the return edges from the bottoms of the bicep btw? How is your movement? Restrained at all? Quote
zeroskillz Posted September 8, 2014 Author Report Posted September 8, 2014 Movement is good, the return edges are cut off the bottom. It fits snugly but not tight--I'm able to flex my arm just fine Quote
Starfox2010 Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 Looks tight, but mabe its the angle of the photo. Dont worry about the glue if you're using E6K, i've made a few mistakes and was able to take it off pretty easily. If you're feeling overwhelmed, work on the shoulder bells...... See you're done! 1 Quote

Bahaha! Yeah...shoulder bells...that's next Starting on the forearms...the sheer quantity of material that needs to be cut off makes me nervous Edited September 9, 2014 by zeroskillz Quote
fuumantroop[TK] Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 Good deal then. Whats your height and weight if you dont mind me asking? Im 5'10 180-185 lbs, and have the exact same kit. I had to trim quite a bit off myself lol Quote
zeroskillz Posted September 9, 2014 Author Report Posted September 9, 2014 Don't mind at all... I'm 5'11" and around 190lbs. Yeah man, I've been following your build, it's looking great so far--it's what helped get me off my butt to get started. Well, that and I'm leaving all the parts on my kitchen counter till its built (yes, I live alone most of the time ) I see you're in Houston, I'm sure we'll run into each other at some point. I'm just north of Dallas. Quote
fuumantroop[TK] Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 Man if i lived alone my armor would have been done weeks ago lol. Just remember i too am new to building, so i am no expert . Good thing about being slimmer than the larger trooper is that there is plenty of extra ABS for cover strips and shims! 1 Quote
zeroskillz Posted September 9, 2014 Author Report Posted September 9, 2014 Good thing about being slimmer than the larger trooper is that there is plenty of extra ABS for cover strips and shims! No kidding! Okay on to the forearms... There's a bigger gap than I'd like at the wrist, mostly from trying to shove the giant rubber gloves through them... I think I may use a pair of cloth gloves as a stand in till I get some nomex gloves, and trim it down a little more. Otherwise, it was far easier to stick the glove in the forearm before putting my hand in it--its long enough to come almost to the back of it, and then sliding my hand in is much easier. Quote
SCTrooper[TK] Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 Make the wrist opening just large enough to get your hand through without gloves on. The gloves are one of the last things you'll put on when suiting up. Quote
zeroskillz Posted September 9, 2014 Author Report Posted September 9, 2014 (edited) Does this look right... seems awfully oblong to me...I would have thought it whould be a more round opening (That's the top end of the right forearm) Edited September 9, 2014 by zeroskillz Quote
zeroskillz Posted September 9, 2014 Author Report Posted September 9, 2014 Cool, good to know. Also, I just checked my shins... I have two sets of identical parts... That's wrong, correct? I think I have two of the same shin like some others have had. Am I right? Quote
Starfox2010 Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 Post a pic, it might depend on if you were one of the people from his first batch. Quote
zeroskillz Posted September 10, 2014 Author Report Posted September 10, 2014 Here's the shins... yep makes two identical shins Quote

If only I had a reason to drive down to Houston Now the debate... Go to work tomorrow or stay home and build armor... Hmmm Edited September 10, 2014 by zeroskillz Quote
fuumantroop[TK] Posted September 10, 2014 Report Posted September 10, 2014 I will probably stay home tomorrow. My wifes car decided to overheat and i can't touch the radiator cap until its completely cooled off. And I am NOT dealing with all them mosquitos outside lol. Perhaps when my armors done they will finally leave me alond Quote
zeroskillz Posted September 10, 2014 Author Report Posted September 10, 2014 Responsibility won over...besides, tomorrow's a better day to take off. Came home and got the second forearm glued up... Now maybe thighs.... Or shoulder bells Quote
