troopermaster Posted March 25, 2008 Author Report Posted March 25, 2008 Thanks for the tip Chef! I just bought a bottle to try out on my Loakes, but I need spray dye for my originals. I'll post the results when the boots are done. Quote
TK-4510[501st] Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 I have a friend in the UK researching this who will know soon enough. As soon as I find out the brand I will pass it along to the rest of the "club". Mike Quote
zenwalker Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 Could someone tell me which Loake Boots are the ones that are closest to being screen accurate (ie. model name/ number). Any info. would be much appreciated. Thinking about getting a pair. Thanks. Quote
troopermaster Posted March 26, 2008 Author Report Posted March 26, 2008 Mine are 290-B. There is a pair on ebay right now- EBAY Quote
zenwalker Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 Thanks a lot for the info. Troopermaster. I am tempted to buy these ebay boots but I am a size 10 North American size. Anyone know if the UK shoe sizes are the same as in Canada? Okay, got the size thing figured out. Quote
Peregrinus Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 Is the 'B' the colour, Paul? I find lots of things for '290', but very little for '290-B'... --Jonah Quote
troopermaster Posted March 26, 2008 Author Report Posted March 26, 2008 UK sizes are usually a size smaller than US. My nikes are UK 10-US 11. I don't know if the 'B' represents the colour, but mine says 290-B. There are other 290's on ebay now. Be careful though, not all Loake chelsea boots are the same. Some are shorter and have wider elastic, and would probably keep popping out from under your shin armour. Quote
troopermaster Posted September 30, 2010 Author Report Posted September 30, 2010 The search is OVER! I finally got myself a pair of size 10's Pics up soon. Quote

troopermaster Posted October 1, 2010 Author Report Posted October 1, 2010 (edited) Thanks! These have been a long time coming. It has taken a few years searching for these boots and finally I have what I want. This is the fourth pair of real boots now. I have sizes 8, 9, 10 and 13. All have been found on ebay so if you want a pair, I suggest you keep looking as they turn up occasionally, you just have to look constantly. Here are a few pics from the auction. Painting will begin soon Edited October 17, 2010 by troopermaster Quote

john danter Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 Good work on finding the Maybe being very picky here, but the ones you showed in the first post are single stitched. A match These latest ones are doudle stitched? Plus the elastic has a weird weave, but the first ones and the originals didn't look weaved? The heel ankle leather patch looks a different width too? The first ones you posted up are bang on. Are these larger shoes different somehow? Sorry lol Quote
RogueTrooper[TK] Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 I'm happy for you Paul Can't wait to see them with a layer of white! Quote
RogueTrooper[TK] Posted October 1, 2010 Report Posted October 1, 2010 BTW, since ya got the size 10 pair.... What'cha gonna do with the size 13 pair?? Quote
troopermaster Posted October 1, 2010 Author Report Posted October 1, 2010 What do you mean by double and sinlge stitched...which areas? I know these 10's are made later than 1976 as the marking inside are slightly different which suggest a later manufacture, but still the same model. My 13's look to be exactly like the old style, just far too big for me unfortunately. Quote
