Dday[501st] Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 (edited) Paul, I'm looking for some of the paint here to paint my sons new boots I ordered, since the UK3 has grown to small in the last few months. The Angelus over here comes in 29,5ml and 118ml. How much did you use to get yours done good? I'm pretty certain I need to get the 118ml one, but I might need 2 or more. Hoping you can give me a tip on the amount required for a UK4. Also, I should be wiping down with acetone prior to painting right, to strip the finish, drying then painting with angelus, like some of the other people have done? Thanks, Derrek Edited April 2, 2013 by Dday Quote
troopermaster Posted April 2, 2013 Author Report Posted April 2, 2013 I bought the 118ml bottle and I have enough left to paint my other two pairs of boots easily. All I did was wipe the boots with a clean cloth to remove any dust and painted them. I don't think it is necessary to remove the glaze on the boots and I have never done that with any of the boots I have painted over the years. Quote

Just a paintbrush and away we go type of thing, your boots look so smooth, almost like a airbrush? Quote
troopermaster Posted April 2, 2013 Author Report Posted April 2, 2013 That's right. I used a brush to apply the paint but it can also be airbrushed according to the instructions on the bottle. Quote
ObiHahn[TK] Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 They look awesome painted, Paul. Now wear them so it all rubs and chips off again! Quote
Dday[501st] Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 Excellent. I took the plunge and ordered the bottle of dye. For sale, size UK 3 kits trooper boots to make room for my new UK4 Quote
