Petros Posted August 31, 2014 Report Posted August 31, 2014 Hi yes time for the TK to be born, along time coming, got side tracked with a TR build and now down to the Shiny stuff. Not a very neat layout, but here is the AM Armour arrived safely from the USA, though I think Aust Post took just as long from Sydney to home. Okay, am I right it reading the Right Arm has 12 dimples and the left Arm has 11. My question is, if i need to shortened the forearm, do i need to leave the same amount of dimples, which dictates how much i can take off. There is blue tape over one arm, perhaps i need to take of a dimple, but what is the standard finessing position of the forearm, does it finish at the wrist or above and below it. thank you Quote
Sly11[Admin] Posted August 31, 2014 Report Posted August 31, 2014 It would be good to keep all dimples for accuracy. My AP only has 11 per sides as L and R are duplicates in their armour. As far as where the wrist finishes on you arm, first you need to look at the gap between bicep piece and top of fore arm. You need minimal gap at that end, and still be able to bend your arm. (Screen accurate has very small gap). The gap between your wrist and hand guard doesn't matter. If your forearms are too long for you, trim the wrist end leaving all dimples, but entirely removing the return edge. I have an image in my build thread of the wrist ends with no return edge left, check it out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
Petros Posted August 31, 2014 Author Report Posted August 31, 2014 thanks Sly I will pop over and check out your thread. Quote
Petros Posted August 31, 2014 Author Report Posted August 31, 2014 With the new threads started since the new AM armour changes and there are some new points to consider: 1. do we or don't we have the return edge on the biceps? 2. how loose or tight should the biceps be? thank you much appreciated. Quote
Sly11[Admin] Posted August 31, 2014 Report Posted August 31, 2014 (edited) Try and keep the return edge as it makes the armour look thicker than it is. How do they fit as they are in your images. They need to be comfy, so if you flex your bicep it should touch the side, but you don't want them too loose. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Edited August 31, 2014 by Sly11 Quote
CRISTONAMO Posted August 31, 2014 Report Posted August 31, 2014 The originals did not have any return edge on biceps and forearms, remove them for a better fit and more accurate look. Quote

cm325i Posted September 22, 2014 Report Posted September 22, 2014 There was an issue with the last batch of AM having 2 of the same shins (right or left). Contact the seller. Sounds like he's been quick to remedy the situation. Quote
Petros Posted September 22, 2014 Author Report Posted September 22, 2014 Thanks mate, have sent an email to TG, thanks for the feedback. Quote

Petros Posted September 27, 2014 Author Report Posted September 27, 2014 Hello, are these bits for the Helmet harness? Think they are but how and when does this bit get done, or even needed and use foam instead? Quote
Petros Posted September 27, 2014 Author Report Posted September 27, 2014 is the helmet aligned to the traps correctly? also should I put ABS pieces behind the cap to have the cap and the back sit flush, at the moment it isn't flush. thank you comments much appreciated. Quote
Sly11[Admin] Posted September 27, 2014 Report Posted September 27, 2014 Hey Petros, those pieces in you earlier image are definitely for a helmet liner, and no, you may not need to use them, I used a couple of pieces of foam attached inside with Velcro so they can be removed if I want to clean the inside of the helmet. Sorry can't help with the assembled of a three piece helmet. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
Starfox2010 Posted September 28, 2014 Report Posted September 28, 2014 Hello, are these bits for the Helmet harness? Think they are but how and when does this bit get done, or even needed and use foam instead? The plastic pieces are for the helmet liner as Sly11 stated. The little nuts and screws are for your ab buttons. You should have 2 sets of ab buttons to chose from. Quote

Before anything, the helmet was a bit difficult for everyone. Make sure you use the E6000 only on this in case you mess up. 1) Yea the helmet is alligned good, and clean at that. 2) You dont need to add the ABS pieces in the back, I don't think anyone of us did that. 3) Take a look at a few of our build for it, maybe our helmet builds could save you some time and suffering (mainly the temple area) There's Dwilly1986's http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28154-my-am-armor-build/ Fuumantroop's http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28115-fuumantroops-am-armor-build/ Rystan's http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28145-am-20-build-anh-stunt-by-rystan/ TT8's http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28183-tt8s-am-armor-build/ ZeroSkillz's http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28516-zeroskillz-am-build/ PGHtoolman's http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28133-pghtoolman-am-armor-build/ and mine http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28109-ricks-am-armor/ Hope I didn't miss anyone. Petros Posted September 28, 2014 Author Report Posted September 28, 2014 Starfox thank you thank you, all those links to builds in one place is brilliant, easy to search. my E6000 should be here this week so I can glue all the bits i need to, including the helmet. Does anyone use the glue that came with the AM kit? Quote
Starfox2010 Posted September 28, 2014 Report Posted September 28, 2014 Forgot to add this one: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/26301-ne-helmet-build/?hl=%20helmet%20%20build Does anyone use the glue that came with the AM kit? I don't think anyone was brave enough to use it since there's no do-overs when using it. Quote
Petros Posted October 1, 2014 Author Report Posted October 1, 2014 Hello troopers, is the kidney plate the right way, e.g. the bit with the curve and the higher bit at the bottom I know I will take some material of the width to fit, though did anyone do much cutting regards the height? thanks again in advance for your help Quote
Starfox2010 Posted October 1, 2014 Report Posted October 1, 2014 Yea thats correct. Cutting will depend on your size. Check out Fuumantroop's build, hes been trimmind down a lot of areas, I might trim down the lower part of the back plate. Quote
Petros Posted October 5, 2014 Author Report Posted October 5, 2014 Hello, well its time to finish the many different parts I have started, first on the starting blocks are the arms. Right Arms: 12 Dimples Question 1: with regards removing the return edge in photo 1, do I remove the material at the top where the dimples are, as in cut that rectangle section out? Question 2: Right arm doesn't line up at the back, what have you with the new AM done to over come this? please see photos 2 & 3 thank you in advance for your assistance Photo 1, return edge Photo 2 & 3 Quote
Sly11[Admin] Posted October 5, 2014 Report Posted October 5, 2014 Hi Peter, ok you will need to remove the entire return edge including the bit in the dimple. At the elbow end, you want to remove that return edge on the inside where you will bend your arm or it's going to pinch (armour bite). Draw a trim line following the end contour and trim that extra bit off and give the edge a light sand. Looks like your are about ready to start glueing some cover strips on.
