fokker210[TK] Posted September 15, 2014 Author Report Posted September 15, 2014 Sunday update.... Basic torso strapping more or less complete. I have stared at white plastic for so long today that I feel like I'm snow blind ! No more blue painter's tape ! Huzzah ! Quote
Vader Rocks Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 Looking great. Awesome work Quote
walt[501st] Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 Wow!!...well done And welcome to the best dad in the world club Quote
fokker210[TK] Posted September 20, 2014 Author Report Posted September 20, 2014 Doing a little work on the helmet today.....Found the hovi tips a little long so I shortened just the exposed mic tip a little while leaving the overall length the same. this should provide for ample gluing area inside the helmet. The shortened mic tip is on the right.... This process took it from this..... To this..... and, the overall look..... Quote
fokker210[TK] Posted September 23, 2014 Author Report Posted September 23, 2014 Helmet almost completed....time for a test fit. He was glad to actually be able to see and breathe ! Things are progressing nicely ! Quote
fokker210[TK] Posted September 29, 2014 Author Report Posted September 29, 2014 TKittell supplied us with an awesome scaled down canvas belt and we were able to get it assembled today. We have attached the drop boxes but are still yet undecided about the holster. We have one ready to go but I'm afraid it might take away from the scaled down appearance as it is for a full size blaster. Quote
Clamps[TK] Posted September 29, 2014 Report Posted September 29, 2014 I had the same holster debate. Tried it once and then removed it. Wasn't really pleased with the look and the kids thought it was a bit of a pain to deal with t being so big. Quote
walt[501st] Posted September 29, 2014 Report Posted September 29, 2014 We need a scaled down blaster!!!!!! Quote
gazmosis[501st] Posted September 29, 2014 Report Posted September 29, 2014 I agree. This build is so cool to watch! Awesome progress! The boy looks outstanding in it! Quote
fokker210[TK] Posted October 13, 2014 Author Report Posted October 13, 2014 I've been on vacation with my family for the past week so the build had to wait ! I got home this afternoon and found these waiting for me....the Walt 80% scale decal set from Trooperbay ! Immediately got to work and this is the result....I'm very pleased and my son is going nuts ! Nearing the finish line ! Quote
fokker210[TK] Posted October 20, 2014 Author Report Posted October 20, 2014 Another fit test....still tweaking a few areas for ease of movement. Reaching the home stretch with just a few things left to do (thigh pack, cap strips, etc.) Little sister had to try out the helmet and blaster....she will grow into it ! Real happiness comes in many forms.....this is one of those forms ! 1 Quote

fokker210[TK] Posted August 2, 2015 Author Report Posted August 2, 2015 Many thanks Clamps ! I must say, it was your own build that was my primary influence in getting this done ! I learned many lessons along the way which will hopefully be of value as I am just starting my own ATA armor. Wish me luck ! 1 Quote
