Sly11[Admin] Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 Hi all I am having dramas trying to find the right length of Chicago screws here in Australia. For a start, 6mm post length, which I can find seem far too thick. What is everyone using?, as I see plenty in the build threads, and if anyone has some.... I need 5 (2 for Holster, 3 for other piece to belt) any feed back is great full. Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 I use 1/4" screw post hillman Quote
I'm Batman[501st] Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 I just used snaps and a washer on the back. Quote
I'm Batman[501st] Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 Just read your title.... Belt , I used regular 1/8 pop rivets, again with a washer on the back. Quote
Sly11[Admin] Posted August 13, 2014 Author Report Posted August 13, 2014 Cool Thanks Ian, was only considering the Chicago screw thing from a easy remove/refit option, but I think snaps and pop rivets are going to be the solution. Quote
I'm Batman[501st] Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 I was in the same boat - couldn't find anywhere locally where I didn't have to buy 100 of them! Then I'd probably buy the wrong size and I'd have 500 unusable chicago screws. LOL! Quote
Sly11[Admin] Posted August 13, 2014 Author Report Posted August 13, 2014 Yep, that's about 95 too many Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 If you use a male half of a snap as the washer you get the accurate pop rivet look from the outside with the benefit of being able to remove the holster. Not that you will likely need to do that many times, but still. Quote
