Why is the search so bad?

Is it just me or does anyone else have a terrible time trying to search stuff on this forum? I often try and look up old threads not just started by me but any threads in general. I was trying to find my old Mic Tip sale thread and the only way I could do it was to go to my profile and find topics by me and scroll down to it. If I tried searching "mic tips" I get nothing? in fact if I try search pretty much anything I get nothing. Am I doing it all wrong? I've tried searching posts, forums etc and get the same nothing results.......              Very frustrating.

Another tip I've been using a lot is to just search on google and add "site:whitearmor.net" without the quotes to whatever you're searching for.

Do you use the 'advanced search'?

 

Since I found that button and search 'in Titles only' I haven't had a major problem.

Hey Mark: Why is the search so bad? It isn't your fault. I think I know why... and I just made a change to fix it to make it suck a little less. Or at least suck less often. 

 

Also here is a link to tips for searching the forum.... if/when it is working.

Thanks for all the tips. I hadn't tried the titles only option. I did try the advanced search to no avail.

I tried Hovi, hovi's, mic tips , tips, mic's etc etc. lol

I'll try the options you guys suggested next time.
