ClockworkRonin Posted July 15, 2014 Report Posted July 15, 2014 So on the 501st website it is stated that these bridges or shoulder straps are secured in the front but "may" freefloat in the rear? What does this mean? Does that make it optional to attach them in the back as in the front or what? Quote
TK6287[TK] Posted July 15, 2014 Report Posted July 15, 2014 (edited) The back of the shoulder bridge is not permanently attached, but rather held in place by an elastic band. Check out some of the EIB or Centurion applications. There will be pictures there showing the elastic band, Edited July 15, 2014 by TK6287 Quote
gazmosis[501st] Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 Keep in mind that the shoulder bridges do nothing structurally for the armor. They are really just there as covers to hide the gap between the chest armor and the back armor. The strap that connects the back and chest from underneath is the structure. The ribbed shoulder bridges are curved so when glued to the chest, they merely sit on top of the back "floating". The small white elastic piece was just to hold them in place. Like Brian said, look on the Centurion builds and you will find examples of thus on every set of armor. Quote
ClockworkRonin Posted July 17, 2014 Author Report Posted July 17, 2014 I did realize that they dont really serve a purpose, its just that having them float didnt look right, and ideally a "real" trooper would have them affixed so yeah. Thanks for the info guys Quote
maxsteele[TK] Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 (edited) Having them "float" with a white elastic holding them down is the screen accurate method for the shoulder bridges. Take a look! Edited July 17, 2014 by maxsteele Quote
ClockworkRonin Posted July 17, 2014 Author Report Posted July 17, 2014 Indeed. Well I guess if its the Imperial standard haha, I would hate for a Grand Moff to call me out on an inspection Quote
