Snaps[TK] Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 I've been debating whether to add wires to the cylinders on my E11 and leaning towards doing it to give it better detailing look. Can anyone tell me if they've done it and what they used? Quote
A Master Builder Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 Ive done it! Just grabbed some scrap wire out of a AC Unit from the inside. Got a pipe to roll it on so it will twirl. I had made sure it had some coil in it so when it was rolled on the tube, it stayed in that position. Thats how I did mine. In the movies, some had it and some didn't have the wires. Quote
gazmosis[501st] Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 Keep in mind the wires (if you choose to use them) should not be overwhelming in size. Do not use stuff like coiled shaver cord or old phone handset cord. Thin wire wrapped around a pencil 4 or 5 times is all you need. Quote
swmand4 Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 Personally, I used 24AWG wire and coiled it around a pen. Quote
hairball[501st] Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 i beleve no wires where visible in the movie, the wires it just from pre-production model. It looks better but not screenacurate, i believe. :-) Quote
gazmosis[501st] Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 There were wires showing early on in production. However, as the filming progressed and more and more counters fell off, the wires went with them. Quote
Snaps[TK] Posted June 25, 2014 Author Report Posted June 25, 2014 So the wires are really a personal preference? Won't affect my going for EIB? Thanks for the tip the wires shouldn't be overwhelming....I really don't want them to be. Quote

russellr2d2[TK] Posted June 29, 2014 Report Posted June 29, 2014 I see they should connect to the front part of the counter but do they connect to the back of the cylinders? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
fuumantroop[TK] Posted July 2, 2014 Report Posted July 2, 2014 From what I have seen on other builds, yes. Although on a hasbro conversion its a tight fit Quote

Snaps[TK] Posted July 2, 2014 Author Report Posted July 2, 2014 Agree with Andrew....everything I've seen, they attach that way. Quote
fuumantroop[TK] Posted July 3, 2014 Report Posted July 3, 2014 Sorry abt the double post! My phone was going full peetard Quote
gazmosis[501st] Posted July 4, 2014 Report Posted July 4, 2014 Negative on the attachment points. The wires did come from the front of the counter, but if you look at shots of the screen used power cylinders, there are screws on the back side. Although this is not a screen used blaster, these are as close to the actual cylinders as you'll get. I just tucked my wires between the fuses between the two cylinders Quote
Snaps[TK] Posted July 5, 2014 Author Report Posted July 5, 2014 Great pic Steve....thank you for clarifying! Quote
