Fizilbert[TK] Posted June 19, 2014 Report Posted June 19, 2014 I was wondering if anyone has ever tried using a throat mic (like what they use in the military) with the iCOMM system? If you have, how did it work? Quote
TK Sparky Posted June 19, 2014 Report Posted June 19, 2014 I use one. But i dont use an iComm. I use it with just the Aker amp. It works great - but i had to change the plug that came with the throat mic to match the Aker jack. I dont see any issue with using it with the iComm other than i couldnt find one with a matching jack and had to splice a new one on the end of the cable. Quote
Fizilbert[TK] Posted June 20, 2014 Author Report Posted June 20, 2014 Do you have any issues from wearing the neck seal over it? Quote
iconoclasta_88[501st] Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 I use one, but not with the amp but with a midland two-way radio, set up similar to the one used by many paintball and speedball enthusiasts. Works great even under the neck seal. I guess it should work fine with the amp too. Saludos. Quote
TK Sparky Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 No issues with my neck seal. You just need to make sure you have the mic pickup postioned correctly on your throat. If anything the neck seal helps keep the mic tight to your thoat and keeps in in the right spot. Quote
Fizilbert[TK] Posted June 23, 2014 Author Report Posted June 23, 2014 Great, thanks for the info. I've been thinking of trying to use one since haven't found a head-held mic that seems to work out well and I can easily fit in my helmet. Quote
