gazmosis[501st] Posted June 12, 2014 Report Posted June 12, 2014 I have seen some real artistry from troopers who have adapted parts and done repairs using ABS paste(ABS scraps mixed with acetone). Has anyone tried this with the PVC that RS armor is made from? Quote
Holnave (evan_loh)[TK] Posted June 12, 2014 Report Posted June 12, 2014 (edited) I asked that question before but from the feedback they said acetone only makes PVC soft but unlike ABS which makes it runny and watery. I DO use ABS paste on my RS PVC though to fill up cracks and holes. I just paint it white (since ABS is a little more off white than PVC) after and you hardly notice the difference! gazmosis[501st] Posted June 12, 2014 Author Report Posted June 12, 2014 But the ABS paste sticks to the PVC?? Great!!!!! Quote
Holnave (evan_loh)[TK] Posted June 12, 2014 Report Posted June 12, 2014 (edited) Works like a charm mate! It melds and becomes one with the PVC so to say...haha! Edited June 12, 2014 by evan_loh Quote
zeroskillz Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 Although I haven't tried it, I would assume pvc shavings in pvc pipe cement would make pvc paste. I'll have to try it later--I've got some pvc cement and fittings at home. Quote
