here is my doopy kit.  I was just wondering if you guys could check it out and let me know if it is 501st ready or not.

I know this is the ANH thread, but I'm not concerned with what version I made, just if it's accurate enough for the 501st

(I still have to paint the discharge chamber thingy silver and add some coiled wires to the counter)

Looks good to me!  I'd use that blaster!  You've even got the D-ring.

 

Paint the bolt metallic grey with maybe a hint of olive mixed in, not shiny silver.

If you want to be really picky, the bayonet lug is not lined up with the flat area.

Only the post production E-11's had coiled wires, so you can leave those off and still be screen accurate.

Leia's escort also had wires, but those were not coiled - more like leftover bare wires.

Yes, skip the coiled wires. Not visible in the movie.

 

But how about some light weathering, a gloss pistol grip and modification of the magazine's end cap (the little release knob & angled corners)?

 

Sorry, please don't get me wrong. Your blaster is really looking okay. Just thought about mentioning a few (not mandatory) things which could make it look even better...
