AlderaanDroids Posted May 9, 2014 Report Posted May 9, 2014 I paid for my kit yesterday! Bank transfer to the UK! In a few weeks I'll be receiving PVC armor, helmet, strapping pack, holster, and ANH blaster. So far they've been very good to work with and answered all of my questions promptly. I'll still need shoes (in talks for), and an undersuit. I'd like to use black merino for breathability. Does anyone else wear merino? I expect to do alot of trimming since I'm 5'2". I'll keep track of my progress here. Thinking of having an armor party in late June if I can find someone to host who will accept bribes in the form of cookies & beer. Quote
TK6287[TK] Posted May 9, 2014 Report Posted May 9, 2014 Congrats on the RS suit! Good luck on your build. Quote
usaeatt2 Posted May 9, 2014 Report Posted May 9, 2014 If I lived in Washington, I'd take you up on hosting your armor party!! Quote
Palpatine1977 Posted May 10, 2014 Report Posted May 10, 2014 This should be very interesting to tailor the RS to you, a lot of trimming indeed! Congrats on the purchase I'm sure you'll love it... Looking forward to seeing the build =) Quote
The5thHorseman[501st] Posted May 10, 2014 Report Posted May 10, 2014 That thread should be a very wise reading while waiting for the armor if you haven't already checked it: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/25919-dianas-rs-props-build-anh-stunt/ Quote
Grimez Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 If you would be interested in painting boots, i'm using http://www.zappos.com/deer-stags-nolita and will be painting them white with http://www.amazon.com/Angelus-Acrylic-Paints-4oz-White/dp/B00HQ53QA8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1399859555&sr=8-2&keywords=angelus+white+leather+paint and http://www.amazon.com/Tulip-Dimensional-Fabric-Paint-Slick/dp/B00114M278/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1399256626&sr=8-1&keywords=white+fabric+paint (be sure to deglaze with fiebings deglazer before painting though)' As for the undersuit, I got this 2 piece setup flat black for just $33. Very good deal, but the top runs a bit small so get a size larger. http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/bcg-8482-men-39-s-long-sleeve-compression-t-shirt/pid-47886?color=Caviar&N=628476043&Ntt=bcg+compression&Ntk=All http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/bcg-153-men-39-s-compression-tight/pid-1038871?color=Black&N=628476046&Ntt=bcg+compression&Ntk=All Quote
bpoodoo Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 I saw those same 'Deer Stag' boots last night while searching for men's Chelsea boots. Price is right but some concern whether they might be slippery according to one reviewer. But then again seeing how much the actual stormtroopers slipped and skidded around that could be accurate! AlderaanDroids Posted May 14, 2014 Author Report Posted May 14, 2014 No armor updates, but I saw this today and got excited! http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Sb0HmsPEt68 So funny! Quote

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Didn't even notice this. Yes, they are slippery, but they have a rubber heel which keeps them stable. I went running in them the night I finished them and they held up fine, running up and down hills and streets without issue. You just have to watch your step on things like carpet. Hope that helps. Here is mine as it is currently: Quote
bpoodoo Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 Sounds like the Deer Stags were a good choice. I ordered a pair of Bass Amsterdams that should arrive tomorrow. It was a coin flip between the two. Quote
Grimez Posted May 19, 2014 Report Posted May 19, 2014 The amsterdams are a good choice, the deer stags are just a budget version. Quote
