Ripper_L[Admin] Posted May 8, 2014 Report Posted May 8, 2014 Hello Community! As I already anounced in my "Welcome"-Thread, I try to refurbish my FX armor during the next weeks and months. For this of course I first gotta get a new helmet. Now I have an offer for a RT-Mod helmet in the German Garrison Forum. Do you think this would be a good Addition to my armor or should I rather buy another helmet (RS/SDS, whatever)? Thankful awaiting your opinion, Danny Quote
Grimez Posted May 8, 2014 Report Posted May 8, 2014 RT-Mod should be a good helmet, I hear the armor is for larger people so they helmet may be a little bigger too. Quote
Ripper_L[Admin] Posted May 9, 2014 Author Report Posted May 9, 2014 I'm average size (180cm) so I won't matter on this. But if it's a good helmet, I guess I'll get one. Quote
Ripper_L[Admin] Posted May 12, 2014 Author Report Posted May 12, 2014 (edited) Unfortunatly I couldn't get the RT-Mod Kit I wanted to. But luckily "Minuteman" from 501st GG Forum sold me his CAP-W Helmet, which you can see on this picture: Today I also started with the first armor parts - I trimmed my bizeps a bit more and pressed in the "thumbprint" (after treating with a heat gun): http://cdaniel-lauber.de/trooper/bizeps_untrimmed.jpeg (before) http://cdaniel-lauber.de/trooper/bizeps_rdy.jpeg (after) P.S.: Is there any possibility to make these pics smaller? (plz help ) Edited February 1, 2016 by Ripper_L Quote
Minuteman Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 Hey Christoph! Good to see you over here ;-) Nice helmet you found there... must be an artist who sold it to you will go to the post office tomorrow. What image hoster do you use? I am a big fan of http://www.photobucket.com . Works very good and has the right size. Nice mod with the thumbprint, but remember, that it was only very prominent on the left bicep, only very slight on the right one: right: left: Keep the mods coming Quote
Fumanchewie[TK] Posted May 14, 2014 Report Posted May 14, 2014 I have FX armor as well. I am looking forward to seeing your progress. Thanks for sharing. Quote
cucblack Posted May 24, 2014 Report Posted May 24, 2014 I modified a FX armor years ago and the results were good. Here some pics. I hope you can get a better result!!! Quote
Ripper_L[Admin] Posted January 31, 2016 Author Report Posted January 31, 2016 (edited) I know this thread is nearly two years old now, but since I finished this project one year ago, I wanted to share with you what I did. I gave my shoulders a new form, I shortened my chest plate, I replaced the shoes and the helmet, I glued the sniper plate on in the correct way, I changed the strapping, I replaced the handguards, my mom sewed a new belt and I made sure, everthing fits properly. Oh yes and I made my own E-11 blaster Here is before:http://cdaniel-lauber.de/trooper/trooper.jpeg and after: http://cdaniel-lauber.de/trooper/Fertig/IMG_vorne.jpg I finally got approved with this armor in April 2015 (just before the Celebration in Anaheim). Her in fighting pose: http://cdaniel-lauber.de/trooper/Fertig/IMG_kampf.jpg If anybody wants to see, how I made my changes, you can have a look on my thread in the 501st German Garrison Public Forum. The pictures should be self explaining. http://501st.de/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=1066&rowstart=0On Thursday I will approximately receive my new Anovos kit and I'm looking forward to show you this new build. EDIT: I decided to embed the before/after picture: Edited February 1, 2016 by Ripper_L Quote

Ripper_L[Admin] Posted February 4, 2016 Author Report Posted February 4, 2016 They are not produced anymore as far as I know. Sometimes they appear up on eBay, where they come from recasters. If you are lucky, you can find a used one in one of the forums. Also the stormtroopercity armor is very similar to FX, since their molds are based on the FX armor.<br> Anyway I recommend buying something else. FX is stable and cheap, but everything else is better on all the other armor kits. Quote
