firebladejedi[TK] Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 I was lucky to get myself a TE2 helmet for xmas and have been itching to get stuck in and get this finished. I was thoroughly impressed by Mr. X. throughout the transaction and had the main man himself assemble my lid for me. While i was waiting for the weather to perk up a bit i put together my other helmet esb style but from the start i wanted to build my TE2 to pretty much the same standards as the helmets would have been for the original film. I wanted to try and make this look like what it may have done for the start of filming in 1977 Quote
firebladejedi[TK] Posted February 23, 2008 Author Report Posted February 23, 2008 The only thing i have done to the helmet before finishing the build was cut out the teeth a little more and sand the eye sockets, everything else is as it was when it came into my possession Quote
firebladejedi[TK] Posted February 23, 2008 Author Report Posted February 23, 2008 You can see im not 100% on this one i need to do the rear trap lines and i may even leave the stripes off, i just wanted to get some pics posted.. Here are the details, you wont find any stickers here Better pictures will come when its daylight but you get the idea, this is my new favourite prop Thanks to everyone here that gave me tips and inspiration for making this build possible, cheers fbj Quote

Stormtrooper Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 Ohhh... nice work with the hand-painted 'decal areas' I'm hoping to receive a set of TE2 armour pretty soon, and these kinda threads are certainly building my anticipation! Cheers, John trooperglovesATyahooDOTcom Quote

Cheers, John trooperglovesATyahooDOTcom Thanks for all the kind words guys, i am really happy with this helmet. Will you believe i painted the whole thing by hand, this helmet has not been anywhere near a rattle can. Its a shame the pics dont really show the details, i tried to get a few drips in the paint for added authenticity but there are only 3 small dribbles in the whole thing... Im hoping to suit up for some pics next weekend by which time i hope to have found some foam for the inner and it'll be all done Quote
trooperstormy Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 *drools* great job mate! Quote
