The5thHorseman[501st] Posted April 9, 2014 Report Posted April 9, 2014 Actually, some suits had this front snap on the right shoulder of the chest plate Quote

Tehcaveman Posted April 9, 2014 Report Posted April 9, 2014 The clamshell build is the way to go.. Quote
Dday[501st] Posted April 10, 2014 Author Report Posted April 10, 2014 The clamshell build is the way to go.. Agreed! There is more progress but I haven't taken pictures.... I think it's because I'm on the home stretch possibly. Left to do is attach the holster, finish the shins with elastics and paint the handguards. Then polishing it up! Techne[TK] Posted April 11, 2014 Report Posted April 11, 2014 Looks like it's coming along nicely. I had the same experience, I would spend 2 or 3 hours working and it seemed like nothing got accomplished...but you get there eventually! I assume based on your hand guards that you're going for Centurion? Quote
The5thHorseman[501st] Posted April 11, 2014 Report Posted April 11, 2014 Your drop boxes are a bit misaligned, they should be aligned with the ends of the ammo belt: But apart from that it's really looking wonderful Quote

Yes, this build is based on centurion standards, I'm of the mind to go big or don't go at all Your drop boxes are a bit misaligned, they should be aligned with the ends of the ammo belt: But apart from that it's really looking wonderful It's more of an optical illusion based on angle, they actually are aligned with the edges of the belt. As of now, the elastic is only riveted down to the drop box, so they can tip forward a little, giving the illusion of misalignment. I will end up gluing (just a drop or 2) the straps at the top of the box to help keep them in line. Quote
Techne[TK] Posted April 13, 2014 Report Posted April 13, 2014 Yes, this build is based on centurion standards, I'm of the mind to go big or don't go at all Right on! Quote
drscifi[TK] Posted April 18, 2014 Report Posted April 18, 2014 Great build progress so far. It is very fun watching your workspace as I clamor for my own. If you have 3 sets of armor it would make a great 3x pose picture! Quote
Dday[501st] Posted April 18, 2014 Author Report Posted April 18, 2014 (edited) Well, I don't have 3 sets of armor currently. Just this one I'm currently working on for someone. The only set I have left that will stay for the foreseeable future is my Vader It makes sense that Vader would have a custom TK factory Great build progress so far. The5thHorseman[501st] Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 She's really beautiful, congrats on the excellent work! Will you dab some white paint on the brackets heads though? Quote
Dday[501st] Posted April 19, 2014 Author Report Posted April 19, 2014 Oh, good call, completely forgot about those! Haha, I got all the rivets, I'll dab up the screws on the torso as well. A second set of eyes is always helpful. Quote
Dday[501st] Posted April 25, 2014 Author Report Posted April 25, 2014 The final moments of this suit in my possession as it gets ready to head to it's new owner. Helmet in Legs and arms in Torso and belt in Stuffing on top to fill any small gaps Now I am suffering from a case of post-partem depression. Quote
