ClockworkRonin Posted February 27, 2014 Report Posted February 27, 2014 HAs anyone ever heard of this website? Can they be trusted? Anyone know of the final quality of the armor? Im thinking about doing it but dont want to drop $1300 on crap Quote
Tolo[TK] Posted February 27, 2014 Report Posted February 27, 2014 I would check on the RPF. They might help you better. Sent from my iPhone 5 using Tapatalk Quote
mikedwelle94[TK] Posted February 27, 2014 Report Posted February 27, 2014 I dunno man. I never heard of it, but that just might be because I don't look into Iron Man costuming. But I hear you can make a respectable looking suit out of EVA foam for a far less amount of money. You might get a better answer asking this question on the RPF. Quote
ClockworkRonin Posted February 27, 2014 Author Report Posted February 27, 2014 Yeah Ive looked into it, but to be honest Im terrible at crafts, and I just know id screw the sculpt up terribly. Not to mention painting. But yeah I will post this there too when I can. Quote
DizzyStormtrooper[501st] Posted February 27, 2014 Report Posted February 27, 2014 the guy from garland tx that sells recast fiberglass tk armor sold an iron man suit, they were both crap made in taiwan or something. i wouldn't trust any im suit unless you buy it from an rpf member or do it yourself. there's plenty of files, paper or foam, and its quite simple and more affordable. Dday[501st] Posted February 27, 2014 Report Posted February 27, 2014 (edited) Hi Joey, I've been doing lots of Iron Man Research recently and that website is trash and so is the armor. It is similar to buying a jedirobe TK or something of the likes. Thats hoping you actually get it. If you are really interested in a resin/fiberglass ironman suit, you are looking around $3000-$4000 for the complete armor setup. The RPF is your best bet, as from what I can find, that is currently the only large Ironman maker/builder forum. There used to be one dedicated to Iron Man specifically, but it was spammed to death or something. On the RPF, there are currently 3 people who sell full fiberglass/resin hard armor suits, two do them to order and the other one has a limited run thats currently full. If the price tag is to much to swallow, there are a few other builders who do commissions for building you a foam iron man suit. Those are in the 500-1000 range. neoakaj[501st] Posted March 16, 2014 Report Posted March 16, 2014 I have researched and built the heck out of Iron Man costumes. That one is a really nice painted foam suit, nothing more. Quote
ClockworkRonin Posted August 19, 2014 Author Report Posted August 19, 2014 Wow thanks all for saving me blowing that much money. I did go to the RPF and have purchased a foam Iron Patriot(even though I dont like Iron man 3 the patriot is the best looking armor IMO) Im glad I didnt make that mistake. Whew Quote
GodKingKyle Posted March 4, 2016 Report Posted March 4, 2016 excuse me mr ClockworkRonin sir, can you maybe give me a link of the seller of the armor that you purchased and could you also tell me how much it was? Quote
ClockworkRonin Posted August 28, 2016 Author Report Posted August 28, 2016 Just search ironmaided on the rpf, hes located in the Philippines as well. And if I remember correctly it was around 700 after shipping but its been a while and Ive bought a bunch of costuming stuff since then so I don't exactly remember Quote
