gmrhodes13[Staff]
DSS TROOP REPORT EVENT: Beaufort street festival LOCATION: mount lawely LANDSCAPE/WEATHER: Outdoors, A scorching 37C TROOPERS: Glen - gmrhodes13 - TK85421 Liz - Liz - DZ-13310 Brett - Synkro - TK-22252 Tony - Black Wolf - TX-49876 Daniel - parsleyboi CC- 79969 Brett - blackout - TK-19292 GUESTS: Gavin - gav - vader WRANGLERS: Arwen Fenton Belle cooper Terry best REPORT: The troops rolled into the meeting place around 11.15am and then made their way to the changing area. Not even half way into changing and everyone was feeling the heat with sweat in a heavy flow. After digging through the box it became apparent that CC79969 had discovered he left his boots at home but manage to snag a pair of sneakers for the day which wasn't a bad alternative. Batteries changed , fans on and a few heads doused with water we were ready to hit he streets . The reaction from the crowd was incredible and people came from every direction to get in for a photo. I believe every person walking by said " geez! Aren't you hot in that". You could guess the answer. The ever so popular vader was swamped and could barely move down the road. Also I believe TX49876 was happy the dark lord was there as not to cause any confusion between the two characters. CT79969 drew a lot of attention with the ' WARNING... ACTIVATED' bellowing out of his Z-6 cannon. Needless to say everyone want to hold it. DZ13310 was also getting attention from her baby jawa. The wranglers were in amazing form keeping a constant eye on every trooper making sure they were hydrated sticking straws into whatever bucket hole there was for a quick drink. The red faced sweaty troops stopped for a quick half hour break and once again hit the streets as the crowds got larger and the day got hotter. TK 85421 and TK 22552 provided some very comical entertainment over the next hour including hip hop / break and in one case dirty dancing which was much amusement to all that were around. The Beaufort street festival topped attendance levels with a massive 120000 people as well as the DSS raising a fantastic 530 dollars for SAFE Perth Thankyou to everyone involved!! it was a fantastic effort and especially the wranglers. we're blessed to have such great support. It's safe to say it was the hottest conditions most of us had trooped in and we survived. INJURIES: The usual armour bites, slight heat exhaustion and some killer sunburn to a wrangler CASUALTIES: None ARMOR REPAIRS: A few clone malfunctions for CC79969 and TK22552 forgot his helmet padding. HAPPY PEOPLE: Everyone UNHAPPY PEOPLE: None MISSION STATUS: 100% complete We ended up raising $530 for the Safe foundation, they save and care for abandoned dogs Edited July 18, 2021 by gmrhodes13 photo updated
