BoomerTrooper Posted November 13, 2013 Report Posted November 13, 2013 Wow, I don't think I've seen a helmet this out of proportion since forever... What do you guys think? Scout Trooper Helmet Quote

Darth Aloha[Admin] Posted November 13, 2013 Report Posted November 13, 2013 Yikes. Is that screen capture from a Rebels cartoon scout? -Eric Quote
Smiling Fox[TK] Posted November 13, 2013 Report Posted November 13, 2013 That is a Rubies Scout helmet. Believe it or not, that is the officially sanctioned helmet. Yeah... Quote
DizzyStormtrooper[501st] Posted November 14, 2013 Report Posted November 14, 2013 Believe it or not, that's the official stock photo. The "good" one was the fiberglass don post one they only made 25 of Quote
Peaches_DC Posted November 14, 2013 Report Posted November 14, 2013 (edited) The original Don Post from 1997. Those things take a ton of modification to look decent (I should know... I did it). You literally have to tear the entire thing apart and start from scratch. When they're done though... they look pretty good if a little small. The molds were actually fairly screen accurate, but the vinyl used to make the helmets was HORRIBLE. Couldn't hold its shape at all which is why the helmet looks so horribly flared out. The Deluxe version that was fiberglass was actually considered an excellent helmet. Those fiberglass models were also made by Altmann's in Australia under LFL license and they are absolutely AMAZING, but extremely rare these days. Bottom line on the helmet pictured... good intentions gone horribly wrong. This is mine just prior to finishing several years ago. The same base helmet, just reconstructed and reinforced in the right areas: Edited November 14, 2013 by Peaches_DC Quote
BoomerTrooper Posted November 14, 2013 Author Report Posted November 14, 2013 Great information, Peaches_DC! I was just blown away when I saw it on evilBay. Quote
Peaches_DC Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 Its quite pathetic that they STILL find buyers for those things. It does look pretty ridiculous Quote
SMUDGE Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 It looks like it was made for John Merrick(The Elephant Man) -ha! Quote
