kupertrooper Posted October 18, 2013 Report Posted October 18, 2013 (edited) Sup guys, I got to troop on stage with Weird Al! After the show I asked him to sign the inside of my bucket. Any way to protect it? He signed it with a sharpie. Will it be ok without anything protecting it? Video of the troop: ---------- Edited December 26, 2021 by gmrhodes13 link not working removed Quote
gazmosis[501st] Posted October 18, 2013 Report Posted October 18, 2013 If you brush anything on it, it may lift it off unless it's a water based clearcoat of some kind. Whatever you decide to use, get some scrap ABS and a sharpie and test it first. Weird Al events are cool!!! It would be a shame if you couldn't preserve this great moment for you. Quote
kupertrooper Posted October 18, 2013 Author Report Posted October 18, 2013 Good idea. I have some spare ABS. I'll try some spray can clear coat on a test piece. Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted October 18, 2013 Report Posted October 18, 2013 Some sharpies react with the thinners in paint and may run, but do try a test piece and just do very light coats with a good wait in between, even standing by with a heat gun or hair dryer may be helpful Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted October 19, 2013 Report Posted October 19, 2013 clear packing tape over the top. heat gun? what? Quote
