TK5144[TK] Posted October 10, 2013 Report Posted October 10, 2013 (edited) What do you think of this one --------------- with the code that shows at the top of the screen - you get $20 off and free shipping. makes the total $59.90 shipped to me in the US. Is the rounded toe acceptable for EIB? Centurion? it looks much more rounded toe than the Bass http://www.amazon.com/Bass-Mens-Amsterdam-Ankle-Boot/dp/B003TFEVN0 Edited January 23, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link not working removed Quote
gazmosis[501st] Posted October 10, 2013 Report Posted October 10, 2013 Looks like that would be OK to me. Quote
Darth Aloha[Admin] Posted October 10, 2013 Report Posted October 10, 2013 The leather sole of the lands end boot may be kinda slippery.... looks ok to me otherwise. -Eric Quote
longboard8 Posted October 11, 2013 Report Posted October 11, 2013 I have them. Order one half size up! Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2 Quote
PGHtrooper21 Posted October 11, 2013 Report Posted October 11, 2013 I wonder if Sears carries them? From reading in the link. You can return them to Sears if ordered by phone or online from Landsend. The reason is if they do not fit right. Andy Quote
Gosdent Posted October 16, 2013 Report Posted October 16, 2013 I'm doing a shadow stormtrooper, so I won't need to paint these! And they have my size. I'm jumping on these Lands' End ones, great find. Quote
TK5144[TK] Posted October 17, 2013 Author Report Posted October 17, 2013 wearing mine at work today to break them in. VERY nice boots. Quote
SorenM[TK] Posted October 17, 2013 Report Posted October 17, 2013 They should be able to be ok'd all the way...:-) Quote
Rich330[TK] Posted October 17, 2013 Report Posted October 17, 2013 Those look reasonably similar to the originals. The originals also had leather welted soles. This just makes them more accurate. Quality dress footwear is traditionally made with a leather sole. It's not excessively slippy, especially when scuffed up on concrete/tarmac. Quote
Big_Sarge Posted October 18, 2013 Report Posted October 18, 2013 I have a pair of these That I will be painting for my TD Build. Very Good Quality and Price is good too. Quote
akrembug Posted October 18, 2013 Report Posted October 18, 2013 I just bought mine last night. They had free shipping on orders over $50. Right now they have 20% off regular priced items and free shipping, but the boots are on sale. You can still get the free shipping though. Quote
Jarek_Solan Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 Excellent! I will be ordering these. I got a gift card from my work for Lands End....GOOD!!! Quote
Jarek_Solan Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 One question on these. Is it easier to paint the spice brown ones or the black ones with the angelus white? How many coats? would y'all suggest? Quote
akrembug Posted November 16, 2013 Report Posted November 16, 2013 One question on these. Is it easier to paint the spice brown ones or the black ones with the angelus white? How many coats? would y'all suggest? I got the black ones and I had to do like 5 coats. Although... I was using an air brush, so each coat was lighter than if it were brushed. Also one bottle of the white is good for probably two sets of boots. Quote
SorenM[TK] Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 You should go for the black version, the originals were black.:-) You will be using between 5-9 layers, apply thin layers. You should sand them lightly, and wipe them with acetone, before painting...and leave time enough to dry between applying the various layers.... Quote
Jarek_Solan Posted November 24, 2013 Report Posted November 24, 2013 (edited) Alrighty...Thanks for the info ladies and Gents! One more question....What size bottle of white Angelus Paint? And what color? Gloss white? Flat white? ----------- Edited January 23, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link not working removed Quote
akrembug Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) I did the 4oz, Regular White. Here is the link for the paint I got. Directly from Angelus. Probably cheaper from Angelus Direct, rather than Amazon. $5.99+$5.05 shipping. $11 amazon vs like $5 from Angelus. http://angelusdirect.com/collections/paint/products/white-paint Edited November 25, 2013 by akrembug Quote
