Can depend on how much bend you have in your plastic section, you may need to heat it a little and form it to your armor, that would take some stress out of it. Some snaps are pretty weak, you can squash them slightly with pliers, may be worth a try before going for a complete overhaul :D

I used Chicogo screws. Hidden by the belt bottons.

Wait....you said you riveted your belt to your ab.  That might be the first place to start. The plastic ammo belt should first be attached to your canvas belt. then the canvas belt should be held to the ab plate with snaps. I tried snaps in the first place but that would pop off then went to rivets and the same thing is still going on.

I would take rivet through the ammo pack and the canvas belt and did the same thing with a snap.

I would suggest the plastic piece is not formed properly around the armor, may need some heat, if it has any spring in it then it will pop off what ever you use
