DarthBrute[TK]
Ok, I have actually been at this point since about March. Had an F/X kit but bought a different helmet. Not sure of the maker but it's a great helmet. Sold the F/X and bought the ATA kit. Had a couple of friends come over and they helped me do a little of this build also. Did the trimming, ordered the boat trim as per Thalizar's instructions. Cut the trim and taped it to the armor. Did some more work with my buddy to get things trimmed a little better and got some things glued and or taped.Using plastic weld on the finishing strips. I may use the plastic weld on the trim as well. I did a test with some spare ABS and boat trim and it didn't dissolve so that's a good thing. I haven't done anything else since. Things got really heavy at work and then I had surgery on my shoulder so I am currently at a standstill. Here are a couple of pictures: : Trimmed and some assembled parts Boat trim taped on A little closer detail shot of the boat trim As soon as I am able to actually lift my arm again, I will get back to it. I already have a friend that will be doing the painting for me! Edited June 7, 2013 by DarthBrute
gmrhodes13[Staff]
Looking good so far, just remember every little bit adds up in the end, take your time and do it right from the start. Good luck with the rest of your build

DarthBrute[TK]
Well I am out of that brace they had me in for a little over a month. Looking to restart in about a week or two. It will feel good to have plastic shavings all over the place again!
DarthBrute[TK]
Just to kind of start getting back in the swing of things I did some work ala doopy doos. Now this is my hasbro blaster already painted. Did some sanding on important areas and used clear epoxy. Painting is next!
DarthBrute[TK]
Well I sanded off some of the problem areas and resprayed. My initial painting had bubbles and glops. This time it didn't end in a horrific disaster. Despite that it doesn't look perfect I am still happy with it.
DarthBrute[TK]
Got the boat trim all glued on. All that time with it taped helped keep it together. I used plastic weld and only did it on the inside to avoid any technical difficulties.

mikedwelle94[TK]
How long did you have to wait for your ATA armor kit? I read that it could be 8 months, which I think seems a bit too long. Still, it's the only affordable option for me to consider, and by the look of these pics, it looks easy enough to work with.
DarthBrute[TK]
As easy as any other ABS kit really. But I caught mine from the Imperial Commissary. Keep an eye out there you will see different types of kits go on sale there all the time.
DarthBrute[TK]
Well the build is complete (thanks to craygee for helping big time!). It just has to get painted and I picked up the paints for that: And of course in the process of taking it off, I had my fuse seam snap right off. Yay me.
