gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted March 23, 2013 Report Posted March 23, 2013 Good luck with approval, you may need to scrape some paint off your crotch rivet. Drop boxes should really come out a bit more also. Quote
FunkyTrigger[TK] Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 Your drop box placement looks fine. I've referred here a TK1650 Billhag diagram. Your armour is a nice fit on you, I see that you've opted for the movie accurate type look here. Your helmet tube stripes are a tiny bit, further out than the general folk follow at the aerator end, but they still look good. My only bug bear here is the holster length and the width of the tan straps. I'm very surprised that this is a RS holster. I'll leave the final say so to the DO. Good luck Quote
FunkyTrigger[TK] Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 I forgot to mention that your white elastic straps for your shoulder bridges are in the wrong place. They need to tie down the ribbed straps to your backplate. Easy fix. Quote

LadyInWhite[TK] Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 Other than some details mentioned above, looks great! RS is so dang shiny. One thing I noticed, and this is more the armor than a Centurion thing, i think... RS belt has round buttons instead of the square+round? ("square buttons") I'm just curious. Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 I was looking at the gap in this photo: Also here The drop boxes move around when the belt is not snapped onto the armour. Quote

Yes I know this mine is the same but still should have been fixed for application photos, this is for centurion after all and newbies may think this is ok Edited March 24, 2013 by gmrhodes13 Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 Yes I know this mine is the same but still should have been fixed for application photos, this is for centurion after all and newbies may think this is ok The are out to the sides as far as they will go in this picture: And that is fine for me. The real "problem" is that the rivets holding the plastic to the canvas belt are not positioned properly. The should be further out to the side. This is an easy mistake, and I made the same mistake when I built an RS this summer. It's an easy mistake because the RS belt comes with formed indentations that fools you into thinking the rivets should go there. If you're not thinking about it, it's very easy to just go with those. That creates the problem that the drop boxes cannot sit further out to the sides, since the are blocked by these rivets. Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted March 26, 2013 Report Posted March 26, 2013 Yes, you get to keep your centurion badge with your new armour. Well done. Quote
HeloTrooper Posted March 27, 2013 Author Report Posted March 27, 2013 (edited) Excellent! Thanks to everyone for the guidance and commentary. A couple corrections as discussed previously... Paint removed from crotch snaps and rivet Elastic over the back of the shoulder straps (in better position) Edited March 27, 2013 by HeloTrooper Quote
