Minuteman Posted March 19, 2013 Report Posted March 19, 2013 Always awesome to see a well assembled RS suit! But your action shot hasn't much action, eh? Just kiddin ;-) Quote
Ravenwood[TK] Posted March 19, 2013 Report Posted March 19, 2013 looks great very clean. I did notice one little thing your shoulder straps could move up a bit on the chest plate, that way they will cover the back plate a little better for you, other than that EXCELLENT WORK! nice job and good luck trooper. Darth Aloha[Admin] Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 Looking good trooper. Should be an easy one for the DO. -Eric Quote
DudeSidious Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 Looking good Dennis! I noticed you have used splt pins to hold your knee ammo pack on, arn't capped rivets ment to be used here or is it personal choice? Quote
Echo[TK] Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 The CRL's state split rivets. Is this out of date? Quote
Kurtzmann Posted March 21, 2013 Author Report Posted March 21, 2013 Always awesome to see a well assembled RS suit! But your action shot hasn't much action, eh? Just kiddin ;-) Haha, I was thinking that shot was pretty bad too, I just needed someone else to confirm it. Let's try this one. looks great very clean. I did notice one little thing your shoulder straps could move up a bit on the chest plate, that way they will cover the back plate a little better for you, other than that EXCELLENT WORK! nice job and good luck trooper. I had actually moved the back plate up after I took that photo, just forgot to send the current shot which is hopefully better. The CRL's state split rivets. Is this out of date? I was going by the CRL which I assumed was current. Quote
FunkyTrigger[TK] Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 You should be ok with split rivets for your knee pack, especially for an EIB application. Quote
DudeSidious Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 You are right it is in the CRL. I just noticed a lot of RS and TM builds that are using caped rivets on the thigh ammo pack and thats why I asked. Also remember TM saying on someones thred there should be a caped rivet there , Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 Split rivets are permitted, but the ideal is cap rivets. Split rivets are allowed in order to let those that have invested in the correct type of ab rivets, re-use any spares instead of having to order even more rivets. That was the idea anyway. But if you have cap rivets laying around, feel free to replace them. But it won't interfere with your applications. Easy approval! Quote
Ravenwood[TK] Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 Nice job, excellent build. Congrats Quote
Kurtzmann Posted March 21, 2013 Author Report Posted March 21, 2013 Thanks so much everyone, I am humbled beyond words to be joining the EIB ranks. A big thanks to anyone that ever posted a tutorial, photo, build thread, etc. The information here proved invaluable. Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 Congrats and well done, welcome to the ranks Quote

Not sure if I just had a brain-fart when I was assembling or what, but looking back at RS's originals I can see they're caps...doh! I'm digging through my left-over kit parts to see if I still have more. Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 Not a big issue really, but if you have some laying around already I think it's worth replacing them. Quote
