LeMaxim[TK] Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 Great work! This thread was one of the first that really stood out when I started to frequent the FISD boards and I have been working up excitement about it with the rest of you. Really great to see the result of the teams hard work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 Quote

Billhag Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 (edited) Steve's future trading card ......ohhh YERRHH I’ve been ask about the blaster by a few people so here goes. Basically it’s a ‘5-minute-fixer-up-rush-job’ that I just threw together in between the 100 mile an hour armour build that we had to do on these beautiful suits. I just cobbled it together with the remit of producing something the size of an E11 with the look and essence of the action figure and Ralph’s concept blaster drawings. I knew I didn’t have enough time to go full tilt on all the details so I tried to make sure that I captured the key elements. It did the trick and I’m already planning a more accurate build that I can hopefully do at a more leisurely pace, well something a bit more sedate than still having the paint dripping wet as you're walking out the door to go to Germany ----------- Edited September 25, 2021 by gmrhodes13 photo updated Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 (edited) I really liked the concept blaster Billy. I'm not sure I told you, but I do remember mentioning to Pete that it reminds me a lot of the ESB Fett sidearm. I wouldn't doubt that there is some connection between Ralph's sketches and what ended up on Fett. Edited September 25, 2021 by gmrhodes13 photo updated Quote
Billhag Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 (edited) Hey my new BGF!! How ya doing matey?, great meeting up with you at the weekend. You're right about production and costume designers taking inspiration from Ralph's brilliant drawings. You can see it throughout all the Star Wars franchise, be that film, animation or even merchandise. I'm kind of torn because I love the skuzzy-real-world feel of the original trilogy weapons but the little 'Space Boy' in me wants that PHEW!-PHEW! ray gun that Ralph's stuff leans a little towards. Here's a couple of examples of a few of the concept blasters, I've got some clearer ones but can't get my hands on 'em right now Edited September 25, 2021 by gmrhodes13 photo updated Quote
R5SB[TK] Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 Loved watching this project develop and seeing the final results! The armour is amazing and will surely become a clearable costume in the not too distant future (if it isn't already). Glad to see the build threads starting to appear (Billy's concept blaster) and look forward to many more. Inspirational! And with that it's back to my "old" TK build. P.S. Billy's Arrest photo is my personal favourite Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 I'm doing great Billy! Just the normal exhaustion from all that excitement. You definitely need to make a BFG as well for your MQ! And please tell you monkey boys that they were brilliant. Quote

Stormy320 Posted August 3, 2013 Report Posted August 3, 2013 This is really great. Some constructive criticism. The thighs and ankles are too big / wide. The armor would look cleaner and streamline with thinner legs. Quote
