pattrooper Posted January 8, 2013 Report Posted January 8, 2013 I am looking to add a pair of binders with a case to add to my suit, any suggestions fellow troopers? Quote
kupertrooper Posted January 8, 2013 Report Posted January 8, 2013 (edited) I made these the other day. They were surprisingly easy and cheap to make. 3" PVC, PVC glue, hinges, magnets, weatherstripping, and some eye screws. Edited February 20, 2021 by gmrhodes13 photos updated gmrhodes13 2021 Quote
bluehickey Posted January 8, 2013 Report Posted January 8, 2013 It's all about the rare earth magnets! Get strong ones so they'll close and stay closed! Quote

Very nice I also was thinking of using the pvc, going to make some soon your picture is a great reference Quote
kupertrooper Posted January 8, 2013 Report Posted January 8, 2013 You may consider thinner weatherstripping because they dont fit big wristed people very well. Quote

To you put it on your belt? Quote
scottdm62[TK] Posted May 27, 2017 Report Posted May 27, 2017 (edited) OK I have started building my own tk binders. Now my question is how have these binders become the binder of choice across the TK 501st? I see them no where in the movies. Just asking. allan1313[TK] Posted May 28, 2017 Report Posted May 28, 2017 Another option is the Disney binders. I have a few pairs of those. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk Quote
SheaJeff[TK] Posted May 28, 2017 Report Posted May 28, 2017 Another option is the Disney binders. I have a few pairs of those. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk I find the Disney binders difficult to operate because of the clasps. They are difficult event without the helmet on. I may try making some PVC ones with the magnet; much easier to operate! Quote

Would you mind showing a close up of how you did the magnets, please. What glue did you use? Quote
magni[TK] Posted May 28, 2017 Report Posted May 28, 2017 Leia wore the binders when she was yelled at from her Dad for taking the car, er, secret plans. I have the Disney binders. The clasp was tough at first but if you use them they break in nicely. Quote

SheaJeff[TK] Posted May 29, 2017 Report Posted May 29, 2017 What did you use for the hinge, and how did you fasten it? It looks like you used screws, but they would need to be awfully small, wouldn't they? Quote

I used a small cabinet hinge and used Chicago screws to mount them Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk 1 Quote
