Dark Trooper[TK] Posted January 2, 2013 Report Posted January 2, 2013 Alright I have a question how long of a pvc pipe will I need? I have seen 7 1/2 long but I am not sure if this is the right measurement. what can I do for clip for it I have a ATA kit Quote
FunkyTrigger[TK] Posted January 2, 2013 Report Posted January 2, 2013 68mm pipe diameter and 7.5" length is good, then you can simply bend an approx 30mm wide metal strip, cut in two, roughly 20cm lengths, to become your TD clips. There are many threads and tutorials that you can find on here for help and picture guidance. Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted January 2, 2013 Report Posted January 2, 2013 I used 1 inch (25mm) aluminium very easy to work with, lots of threads in the forum on making them. Or Vern is making them at the moment in the for sale section. 7 1/2 inches for the pipe Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 (edited) ATA uses the TE/AP measurement for the diameter of the tube, so it's slightly smaller than a TM or RS props tube. 7 1/2 is the usual resulting length 2 1/2 inches diameter you want 6/32 inch round head slotted decorative screws and nuts. 1inch aluminum by 1/16inch thick drill first hole 1/2" from end drill second hole 1 1/2inches from that. ---------- Edited January 20, 2021 by gmrhodes13 link not working, removed gmrhodes13 2021 Quote
Dark Trooper[TK] Posted January 4, 2013 Author Report Posted January 4, 2013 So my ATA ends caps fit a 2 inch abs pipe. I guess you can use any gray color right? where can you get the aluminum strips at and is it hard to bend them into the shape you need. Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted January 4, 2013 Report Posted January 4, 2013 I used just a common grey spray paint, if you are lucky you can sometimes find the pipe in grey. Clips have a look at Vern's clips http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/22546-ap-te-style-thermal-det-aluminum-clipsw-hardware/ Quote
