Seeker[TK] Posted December 20, 2012 Report Posted December 20, 2012 (edited) HI everyone! After trolling for about a year now, and getting reacquainted with these amazing builds here, I finally decided to start my build thread. I'll keep this short. I've been costuming since the middle of the 1990's, I first bought my very fist Stormtrooper costume in 1995 from a Starlog magazine ad from that Marco Co. I was in cloud nine. Then a few years after that, I heard of the 50st and joined. Been there since the beginning. I never did had the chance to actually wear all white stormtrooper, I always wore a Sandtrooper and I'm really excited to finally build an all white one this time. Ala Death Star hallway look. I sold my Santrooper armor to a great guy in Germany and I really miss wearing my trooper gear. Well that time is now. I need to finish my RS Propmaster ANH trooper armor by Januray 17th. I have an event that day that only require Imperials. Here's a little picture history of my trooping through out the years. Marco trooper armor with Don post original vinyl helmet. My very first submission photo to the 501st. Armor was a butcher one with parts from all types of makers. Phantom Menace premiere 1999 2005 a picture before I sold it. You could see the rest of the set this Vintage set at my Flickr Gallery on my signature. I'm also known for this guy. This is the reason I slacked off wearing my Trooper armor. 2013 Now onto my RS trooper build These is where I'm at right now. You could see the rest of this build set at my Flickr Gallery on my signature. Thank you all Seeker . Edited December 24, 2012 by Seeker Quote

Seeker[TK] Posted December 23, 2012 Author Report Posted December 23, 2012 (edited) I was able to find some Chelsea's that were close, but not exact. Hopefully one day I'll find me one those 1095's. The one I have is a Charles Tyrwitt Chelsea boot. It had a couple of minor details I wanted fix. One, the sole was pretty beat up and I added a new sole. I also wanted replicate the look of the studio shot version. It looks like the sole's are a bit thicker looking and also very leather brown looking. It's a little tight on me, but it will do. This will be a sole fix update. I'll do a painting post later. Here's the look I was going for. The studio look - The original sole - The fixed sole. Original boot. Original beat up sole. 1/4 inch Leather hide cut out. Sanded down the sole for better gluing Making sure it matches. Adding glue to both parts then waiting ten minutes for it cure. Then firmly press. I added leather Barge glue sold at Tandy Leather Factory. Then cut out the edges. Tracing a faux line to replicate a real Goodyear Welted Shoe style. Carving out the line. Faux stitches. Before the dark dying. Added some Neatsfoot oil to protect it from cracking and weather conditions. Then I added the final dye on the edges. Final piece Edited December 23, 2012 by Seeker Quote

troopermaster Posted December 23, 2012 Report Posted December 23, 2012 Good job on those boots Arturo. This is the kind of attention I like to see going on in a build thread My latest pair of original Stuart boots has an extra layer added to the base of the sole and looks very much like your boots. Well done! Quote
Seeker[TK] Posted December 23, 2012 Author Report Posted December 23, 2012 Thanks guys! Yay! approved by the master. Quote

Seeker[TK] Posted January 8, 2013 Author Report Posted January 8, 2013 Got a chance to build my canister today. My Quixotic5894 clips showed up during the weekend. I'm very happy how they turned out. I went with the real canister look of RS's canister. The end clips were not that close to the end caps. I hope I can still apply for Centurion. Quote
Quixotic5891 Posted January 8, 2013 Report Posted January 8, 2013 Looking really great bro glad I could help! Quote

The reason I want people to put them at the far edges of the canister is that if I didn't, people would put them way too far towards the middle. My original specification of that requirement didn't mention any measurements, since I think there's room for leeway. But I got complaints about that and had to pick some kind of measurement. The TD and it's clips are looking beautiful btw. Great work from both of you! Quote
Seeker[TK] Posted January 8, 2013 Author Report Posted January 8, 2013 The rest of the canister pics can be found on my flckr trooper page. Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted January 8, 2013 Report Posted January 8, 2013 I fixed your 501st privileges btw. Quote
svache[501st] Posted January 8, 2013 Report Posted January 8, 2013 I think this is going to be one beauty of a Centurion build Quote
