splitting back plate

can anyone send me a link to the best way to split the back plate in to a but and kidney plate.

 

i imagine it just cut across, but would like to get it spot on and cut in the right place.

Just cut it across the line that seperates the kidney from the butt (assuming it has a line). Which armour do you have?

Use a lead pencil and run it across the groove/line that is already scribed into the armor which will make the line easier to see before you cut...I then used ABS shears/scissors (Actually i used our Cutco Kitchen scissors...my wife wasn't too happy about that...)...I got a nice straight cut that just needed a light going over with some sandpaper to smooth out a little...hope this helps...
