PEEL Posted December 26, 2007 Report Posted December 26, 2007 I just received a SDS Hero helmet for Christmas. I am sure there are threads around that can assist me but I cannot locate one at this point. Just looking for advice on how to best pad the helmet and what liner is best. As you can tell, I'm a newbie. Thanks for any help that anyone can provide. Blair. Quote
ManInWhite Posted December 26, 2007 Report Posted December 26, 2007 (edited) Here's a few links to what others have done. ----- Edited December 6, 2020 by gmrhodes13 link not working, removed gmrhodes13 2020 Quote
TK-9805 Posted December 27, 2007 Report Posted December 27, 2007 I used a foam liner from a skateboard helmet. Just used a Dremel to cut away the outer shell. Had to trim away the top, on the back side, to get it to fit inside the helmet, but it, at least, makes the helmet halfway comfortable to wear. Quote
Td3828 Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 (edited) I use the system linked below in my TD bucket. It works great! You can move the pads around and remove them to wash out the sweat. ----- Hope this helps. Edited December 6, 2020 by gmrhodes13 link not working, removed gmrhodes13 2020 Quote
SethB6025[501st] Posted January 3, 2008 Report Posted January 3, 2008 I use the same military pads. Properly positioned they are the most comfortable and secure method I have ever tried. Hands down better than a hard hat liner or insulation foam. Quote
