Plastic Soldier Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 My first piece arrived today, the bucket from the fine gent over at ATA . I hope to start on this whenever my tools and stuff arrives from Trooperbay, probably this weekend. I decided to do Centurion right from the start so I might be a help to others some day plus I like the challenge. Here it is... Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 Very cool, I remember the excitement opening my first box, now I am on to the second box and there was even more excitement. Good luck with our build, will be watching Quote
Plastic Soldier Posted December 6, 2012 Author Report Posted December 6, 2012 (edited) I cut out the eyes and trimmed face. I also drilled a hole and added the D-Ring to the E-11 hyperfirm. Should get some pics up soon. Edited December 8, 2012 by Plastic Soldier Quote
Plastic Soldier Posted December 11, 2012 Author Report Posted December 11, 2012 I got my boots and E-11 recently and started on my bucket. Any critiques, advice or mockery welcome. How are the eyes and teeth? thanks! Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted December 11, 2012 Report Posted December 11, 2012 Hi Matt I would just try to square the corners of the teeth a little more, have seen that picked on before, eyes looking good just see how they are when you fit your lenses, I wanted mine quite flat inside the lid so I sanded across the back of them with a small block of wood and sandpaper. Keep up the good work Quote
Potty Meister Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 Eyes look great. Maybe open up the two center openings in the teeth a bit more. Check out the frown reference pics for all the details. Keep going! Quote
Mogwai[TK] Posted December 12, 2012 Report Posted December 12, 2012 Good so far. Square the Teeth a little bit more, like said before. Quote
Plastic Soldier Posted December 13, 2012 Author Report Posted December 13, 2012 I opened up the teeth and studied the screen used helms some more. I am starting to feel better about the non symetrical features of the bucket and my imperfections after getting some good looks at the real ones. They say ATA buckets aren't supposed to be totally symetrical so that is good to know. I am now tinkering with the ears and will post pics when I am fairly satisfied. With dremmeled ABS dust all over me and a few expletives later perhaps I will get these right. Quote
TK Droid[TK] Posted December 13, 2012 Report Posted December 13, 2012 nice job have fun with your build Quote
Potty Meister Posted December 18, 2012 Report Posted December 18, 2012 Yeah the helmets aren't symmetrical at all. Just look at it in a mirror. Looks kinda freaky. Quote
