Niklasher Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 Hello troops! Could use some modification tips to get my armour approved. http://s1280.beta.photobucket.com/user/Niklasher/media/pose2.jpg.html http://s1280.beta.photobucket.com/user/Niklasher/media/pose1.jpg.html http://s1280.beta.photobucket.com/user/Niklasher/media/4.jpg.html http://s1280.beta.photobucket.com/user/Niklasher/media/3.jpg.html http://s1280.beta.photobucket.com/user/Niklasher/media/2.jpg.html http://s1280.beta.photobucket.com/user/Niklasher/media/1.jpg.html Peace. Minuteman Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 (edited) Hey Niklas! Well it´s a start, for a first suit it doesn´t look that bad. Who made this armor? Have a look yourself --> http://www.501st.com...ng:TK_anh_stunt This is a checklist you can look at and see if everything is where it should be. So i will start from the boots up to the top. Sorry, but your boots are a no go. These Elvis boots are nothing like the movie ones. I would suggest http://tkboots.com/ These are the best, everybody will tell you so. This magnet construction at the shins is just provisionally, isn´t it? Except this the shins look good. But your thighs are much too wide. Maybe try to open them and make them fit your body shape better. AND!!! The coverstrips should not go completely to the bottom. Cut them where the raising (you know what I mean?) begins. Also I would recommend to round the lower corner of the thigh ammo pack. Another point would be to cut the corners of your ammo belt in a 45 degree angle. What happened to your abdominal buttons? 3 are missing. Search on this forum for the correct number and paint scheme. Also the shoulder bell elastic should be present like this: Sorry to see that you attached the shoulder bridges via rivets. this is not accurate, because they were glued in place. Have you modified the MRCE or eFx helmet? I´m no fan of this helmet, but it´s your decision to take this helmet or a more accurate, really screen derived one. Your on a good way, keep up the nice work **EDIT: And I would suggest changing your Thermal Detonator. There was no black color between the white parts. Jesse does some really nice ones, you can search in the "Ongoing Sales" area. Edited November 13, 2012 by Minuteman Quote
Clamps[TK] Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 You're certainly well on your way, but there is work to be done. Thanks for being willing to ask for feedback. I have some additional thoughts on top of what Steffen has mentioned above. For ease of sharing, in photobucket, if you hover over your images, it should provide you an IMG link, if you copy and paste those directly in your post, the images will show here versus folks having to click our to view the images. Some of the finer details to comment on would be easier to see if we had higher resolution images or close-up shots of the bucket and each area of the armour. Are you trying to build ANH Stunt TK? Is the frown painted Black? if so and you are trying to go for ANH Stunt, you need to change to grey paint. This link may help you correct both the frown colour and the AB buttons: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/tutorials/article/23-helmet-ab-button-paint-reference-guide. Missing is your Holster. While the E11 blaster is technically optional for 501st approval, the holster is not (if I am reading the CRL correctly). Cosmetically speaking, connections between the canvas and plastic belt should not be visible This should be achieved via the three holes under where the square bottoms are located. Now, if you are going for ESB, then you will need to get the correct hand guards (yours are ANH style), helmet decals and correct holster straps and placement. Good luck and keep asking for assistance if you don;t understand anything. We all learn together here! Quote
Niklasher Posted November 13, 2012 Author Report Posted November 13, 2012 ok awesome! Minuteman Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 Niklas and where is this armor from? Quote
Niklasher Posted November 14, 2012 Author Report Posted November 14, 2012 Some dude on ebay from Uk Garrison, why? Quote
Minuteman Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 Maybe this guy can suplly you with a more accurate helmet ;-) The eFx has to be modded to be approvable and looks imho not as good as real screen-derived helmets. But that is your decision. Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 Those boots are a no-go right off the bat. The rest you can work with to improve. Quote
FunkyTrigger[TK] Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 Hi Niklas, I am from the UK Garisson, please send me a link to your auction if you would like me to investigate. Quote
Niklasher Posted November 14, 2012 Author Report Posted November 14, 2012 wuz like 3 years ago, dont know where the link is, Think they made the armour. I accually got a helmet for the armour but it looks like shucks compared to the FX helmet. Quote
Minuteman Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 Okay. Two things: First here is a list of the vetted armor makers, that do also produce helmets. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/ Maybe you will reconsider your choice of the eFX. If not look here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/8839-howto-modding-the-mr-ce/ This is a tutorial on how to mod the MRCE/eFX to be able to get approved. Good luck Quote
