trooperstormy Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 This is an AWESOME video of a fellow 501st member putting his TD [sandtrooper] armor on. Its a good step by step video thats less than 10 min. long! The guy has a great sense of humor! (NOTE: Check out his armor mods. I noticed that he has a belt w/velcro on it to hold his thigh pieces.) The FISD URL is here for the mod: http://whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=293 1 Quote
Runnriottt Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 Good vid. Dig the girdle for the thighs. Im off to make one. Quote
Jehudah Design Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 Hehe, cool video. "I did not grab my crotch" Actually now I want to make a video like this for my site, perhaps I should? It would be for a regular Stormtrooper and not a Sandtrooper. Anyway, thanks for posting. Quote
Daetrin[Admin] Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 Doh! I should make one. I think I can get my sandy on in 5 minutes. The TK on the other hand still takes a little longer. Quote
kiyotei[TK] Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 The hardest part of putting on armor is stretching that "under armor" over my less than chiseled body Quote
ItsThatGuy[501st] Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 (edited) Thanks for posting that! I looking at options for doing that for an Armor Panel at SheVaCon next year! Exodus[TK] Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 Dressing is easy, unpacking your armor from a tub and setting it all out so you can reach for the pieces while getting dressed in a crampt place - priceless Oh and watch out for cats while you are putting on your TD Quote
firebladejedi[TK] Posted December 18, 2007 Report Posted December 18, 2007 Dressing is easy, unpacking your armor from a tub and setting it all out so you can reach for the pieces while getting dressed in a crampt place - priceless Yeah why is it you set it all out on the floor neatly.. then as you start to get dressed, you further realise that you cant reach the floor anymore..................... trooperstormy Posted December 18, 2007 Author Report Posted December 18, 2007 Or when almost everything is on then you reach for your helmet and as soon as you hold it, your bicep velcro come undone...[i need a snap system] Quote
jmgordon7 Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 Well that video actually helped me : p It reminded me to put foam in the forearm pieces Quote

TK-9805 Posted December 21, 2007 Report Posted December 21, 2007 Anyone ever put on the thigh and shin armor and realize you forgot the boots? Been there, done that! Never thought about putting on the belt before the chest armor, but it makes sense. Quote
Darth_Nickel Posted December 21, 2007 Report Posted December 21, 2007 Anyone ever put on the thigh and shin armor and realize you forgot the boots? Been there, done that! Never thought about putting on the belt before the chest armor, but it makes sense. Man.. at least I'm not the only one... it's the kind when you look around.. think crap... stupid boots... (did anyone notice....) lol. Quote
TKWinterhawk[501st] Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 OKay did anyone else laugh as hard as I did... Funny and informative Gonna try and make one of those belts.... Quote
freakengine[501st] Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 Thanks for the kind words, guys. That's actually my video. My usual hangout is the MEPD boards, but I've been browsing here a bit too recently. My site (costumebot.com) is intended for non-501st folks who are interested in and can learn from the hints and tips many of us take for granted. I'm glad it helped. I recently added a brief helmet fan tutorial too (yeah, I know it's simple but you be surprised by how many people asked about it). Let me know if there's anything in particular you'd like to see. I'm always looking for ideas. I think I may post a MR CE UK helmet review and a mods vid soon. 1 Quote
Amish Trooper Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 awesome I laugh at your vids. Great sense of humor I actually subscribed to you a while back Quote
