FunkyTrigger[TK] Posted October 28, 2012 Report Posted October 28, 2012 Hi there Wes. Nice submission there. Lots of required detail and info. It's nice of you to offer up yourself for comments and criticism. You have to be pretty thick skinned to put your self up for EIB and Centurion. Anyway, over to the matter in hand. This is not yet an EIB matter but your Darman holster is too long an is an area that you could consider addressing in the future. It's nice to see that you have shortened the straps that attach to your canvas belt. Your left shin appears not to be closed to the back as the shape is very wide. That's it from me really. A good looking EIB build requiring a few tweaks. I hope your thighs are easy to adjust and drop a little, and to preserve the longevity of your armour you may need to trimming the return edges of your chest plate at the sides. Good luck trooper. Mongoose[TK] Posted October 28, 2012 Author Report Posted October 28, 2012 (edited) Ah yes, I see the left Shin. These pictures were taken after returning from a Halloween party. That hole you can see at the bottom of the left shin was an attempt to use the hook method of closing. After that failure I switched to velcro. When properly closed that hole isn't visible. I can redo a picture of the left shin if required. The thighs do come down more. Just had them up too high. I'll await word about the holster to see if it'll effect the approval. Thanks for the input! Edited October 28, 2012 by Pfneisl Quote
red white Posted October 28, 2012 Report Posted October 28, 2012 Your kit looks great! Good luck to you! I can't wait to hear your results. Quote
Mongoose[TK] Posted October 28, 2012 Author Report Posted October 28, 2012 Just for proof I ran downstairs, threw on the left boot, rolled up my pant leg, strapped on the left thigh and here's the way it usually looks from behind. Behold the power of the Blackberry Phone Camera. Hope it isn't too bad. I just want to show that the hole isn't visible. Quote
Vader Rocks Posted October 29, 2012 Report Posted October 29, 2012 Nice looking build, good luck on your approval. Quote
Mongoose[TK] Posted October 29, 2012 Author Report Posted October 29, 2012 Thanks, I had that tattoo in mind for quite some time. Just had to wait to get approved and get my TK number. Quote
Mongoose[TK] Posted October 31, 2012 Author Report Posted October 31, 2012 Just noticed I missed a picture of my right shoulder strap. So that's been added now. Quote
Mongoose[TK] Posted November 1, 2012 Author Report Posted November 1, 2012 (edited) Can't believe I missed something so basic. The lens in my helmet was the stock lens that the RT-Mod comes with. By no means is it green. I still had in my mind the Hero criteria that allows smoke colored so I never even though to change it. I was going for the hero until I decided to do the stunt. Realized this at 10:30 at night. The fact that I couldn't go to bed until I had the lens switched and the new pictures up either shows dedication or obsession. My wife bets on the latter one. Oh well. Here are the new pictures of the helmet showing the green lens. First the side by side comparison, A little darker for sure. And installed in the helmet with a light behind. Pictures were taken with my Ipad but they look decent enough. Edited November 1, 2012 by Pfneisl Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted November 1, 2012 Report Posted November 1, 2012 You may want to reconsider your knee belt attachment since the rivet is in the wrong spot. It's supposed to be in the top corner. But still, approved. Quote
Clamps[TK] Posted November 1, 2012 Report Posted November 1, 2012 congrats and welcome to EiB Trooper Wes! Quote
Dazauto[TK] Posted November 1, 2012 Report Posted November 1, 2012 Congrats trooper, welcome to the ranks. Great job Quote
HockeyTrooper[TK] Posted November 1, 2012 Report Posted November 1, 2012 Congrats and welcome to the ranks! My only comment would be if you want to change how your sniper knee plate is attached (a Centurion requirement, I think?). I think a lot of people glue theirs. I used magnets to attach mine. Great looking kit regardless! Quote
jnnfr72[TK] Posted November 1, 2012 Report Posted November 1, 2012 Yay! Congratulations WES!!!!! Go out there and have some fun. Quote
Mongoose[TK] Posted November 2, 2012 Author Report Posted November 2, 2012 Thanks for all the congrats. I'll definitely look into moving the rivet on the knee belt soon as I return home. Just left for a 10 day trip back home and the armour didn't follow me. Thanks! Quote
Vader Rocks Posted November 2, 2012 Report Posted November 2, 2012 Congrats and welcome to the club Quote
