Looks like you did a great job!

What jumps out on me is that your blue ab buttons are too dark. Also, your drop boxes may need to be moved towards the center of the belt so they are more inline with the thigh cover strips.

Mathias will give you the final say on the modifications.

Good Luck Trooper!

Hi Ian,

You've done we'll to fashion this armour to fit your height and frame.

I can't see anything that will affect your EIB application...

Good luck Trooper.

Hi Ian, what colour blue have you used on your AB buttons?

I believe it should be the same blue as your helmet tube stripes.

And I think Marks correct that your drop boxes are a bit far round on you?

What size waist do you have?

Posted

Hi Guys,

The colours used for the Ab buttons are Humbrol AD grey 5 and Humbrol Midnight Blue 15 - I understood these were the correct colours for ANH. Waist size is 32 in.

Midnight blue is "deprecated". It was common in the older days but since it has been established that french blue is a better fit.

Hi Ian, French Blue, Humbrol 14 I believe..

This is a quick, easy and aesthetic change that can be done and on Cathy's if she's done the same :)

I'll send you Bill Haggs diagram on the drop box placement in relation to your belt.

Thanks Guys,

My fault with the drop boxes. I was told the correct positioning by Bill who also advised me to shorten the length of the elastic. I did shorten the elastic but forgot to move the boxes in. I have now moved them to the correct position as per the below photos.

Original position

Amended position

Thanks for the colour chart Phil. :duim:

I will get the correct colour blue tomorrow and change the Ab buttons to the right shade on both our armours. :)

Thanks

Great build i just love AP.

It would look even better if you try to get a small gap between back and kidneyplate by rising the backplate just a bit since there should be no overlapp of those two parts.

Good job on the sniperplate!!!

But it looks to me that your thighammobelt sits a little bit to high on the right side ( outside of your leg)

And for me personal coverstrips are much better looking than the overlappingmethod but that is totally up to you until centurion.

Best Dr.

Hi again,

I have removed the Midnight blue and repainted the buttons with Humbrol 14 French Blue. I can't believe I made such a basic error.

As mentioned in my previous post I have also moved the drop boxes to the correct position.

Would be great to see you both acheive this mate and two more for the UKG ;)

Hi Mark,

Yes as I understand it the Hasbro blaster is allowed for EIB as long as it has the Dooby Doos conversion kit. The bottom T-track has to be removed to leave 6 T-tracks and not 7 and a new set of vent holes needs to be drilled. It is Centurion level which does not allow Hasbro blasters even if modified.

As my newly painted Ab buttons have finally dried I have included new photos to show the repositioned drop boxes.

Hi Ian,

Can I just point out that it is superb, that you have re kitted up and submitted new pics to show your completed mods.

This is a fantastic example of how the thread should be progressed.

Your build looks all in proportion, you can't really tell from your pics that your a 5'4" trooper.

You've probably ticked all of the EIB boxes.

There are two obstacles ahead for centurion should you wish to go for that.

As mark mentioned, one is the Hasbro blaster, and the other is your armour overlap construction.

Adding the required side rivets would be easy.

Good luck Ian.

Thanks Phil! I did work hard to try to get that effect! With my previous armour you could always tell that I was a short trooper!

Now as long as I only stand next to Kathy no one will ever know! ;)
