Redforce[TK] Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but....I am need of the clips that can attach the thermal detonator to the back of my canvas belt. Who or where or can I order them from? Quote
rhapsodyred99[TK] Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 I got mine from TKleper but seems his sale is closed, you can still try sending him a PM. Quote
HockeyTrooper[TK] Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 I believe TK_Leper also posted a youtube somewhere of how to make them as well. Quote
Redforce[TK] Posted October 25, 2012 Author Report Posted October 25, 2012 even better. Thanks! Quote
LadyInWhite[TK] Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 You can look for cheap ($6) banker's money clips on Amazon, too. Basically a thin, narrow (1/2-3/4" width) strip of aluminum or metal you can fold as needed. Quote
Valgars[TK] Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 If you're in the us hit ace hardware they have 1/32ish I don't remember the gauge stainless sheet. It something like 6x12 inches. Search for Jesse's tutorial and use that it'll work like a charm. You score and snap the sheet. It's so thin it will work just make a couple passes and sand the edge when done it'll be a razor. They are 1-1/8 inches wide if I'm not mistaken. Sorry I'd link the tutorial but the search doesn't like to work from my phone. Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 (edited) you want 1" wide by 1/16" aluminum flat bar, then bend to shape, everything else is too thin. Edited January 10, 2013 by TK Bondservnt 2392 Quote
SWAMPTHING[TK] Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 I am currently using clips from the back of a remote used to open an overhead garage door, I had to bend them a lot and am not completely happy with them since my TD can be pulled off my belt too easily but I will change this as soon as I can Quote
MisterFubar[TK] Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 The 1/8" flat bar seems way too thick to me. The ones I got from TK-Leper appear to be .060"(1.5mm), and if I was going to make them myself, that's what I would use. Quote
Darth Aloha[Admin] Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 Jesse (TK_LEPER) never finished this video series... but you get the general idea: http://www.whitearmo...tor-belt-clips/ Here are a few photos of a screen used TD from our reference gallery that may help: Aloha, -Eric Quote
TK Keith[TK] Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 I also got mine from TK Leper after I tried to use some metal clips from Wal-Mart that kept breaking on me. He was a great resource and I hope his thread re-opens for future troopers sometime! Quote
Redforce[TK] Posted October 26, 2012 Author Report Posted October 26, 2012 his videos were very clear....I will try to make em for sure... Quote
jmm7375[TK] Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 I am in the process of making these based on Jesse's tutorial and guidance. I plan on making two sets of clips (one for myself) and I'd figure I'd sell the other since I had to buy the whole 4 foot piece of aluminum bar anyway. Quote
troopermaster Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 I have plenty of the 1.5mm flat aluminium strips already cut to size that just need bending if you want a pair? Quote
Redforce[TK] Posted October 26, 2012 Author Report Posted October 26, 2012 Hey. Thank you so much. I already picked up some before I saw your reply....im gonna give it a go.....if I screw mine up somehow.....I'll hit you up... Quote

mr_speed[TK] Posted January 9, 2013 Report Posted January 9, 2013 I used picnic table clips found in the camping section at Walmart. They are stainless steal and were easy to bend. Even drilling a hole through them wasn't that hard. Quote
DizzyStormtrooper[501st] Posted January 10, 2013 Report Posted January 10, 2013 I heated up spare abs like pandatrooper cuz I don't want mine falling off or removable unless I suit down, especially if I keep items inside Quote
