battery Posted October 21, 2012 Report Posted October 21, 2012 what is the general technique used in bending these bastards? everything i try feels like i'm about to shatter the entire codpiece! Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted October 21, 2012 Report Posted October 21, 2012 A screwdriver between the legs and pliers for pressure worked for me. Quote
Geaux Saints[TK] Posted October 21, 2012 Report Posted October 21, 2012 I placed a screwdriver sideways to start the split going outwards. Once the rivet split some, I used the squared "neck" of the screwdriver to spread it some more. Once they were out enough, I just hammered them flat. Quote
Owen91 Posted October 21, 2012 Report Posted October 21, 2012 (edited) It feels like you're hurting the plastic but as long as the rivet is what's taking the blows you'll be alright. Edited October 21, 2012 by Owen91 Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted October 21, 2012 Report Posted October 21, 2012 (edited) Try this http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/21435-simple-split-rivet-punch/ I have made the same tool ------------ Edited April 20, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link removed no longer working Quote
