captsafe66[Admin] Posted October 15, 2012 Report Posted October 15, 2012 Hi Troopers! I just want to get a feel for how many Troops everyone has done this year. Also, what has your favorite one been so far. So far, I have done 36 Troops since December of 2011. Many of those, I have worn multiple costumes. My Garrison has started to call me "CherTrooper!" Last Saturday was my personal best, 5 approved costumes in 1 Troop...yea, I may have a problem! LOL My Favorite was my first Troop with Weird Al on 5/4/12, yes, May the Forth be with me and Weird Al! Looking forward to your imput. Quote
Front-a-Little Posted October 15, 2012 Report Posted October 15, 2012 19 troops so far, 25 if you just count the days. Should be 22 at the end of the year. My favourite troop measured by how entertained the crown was would be Legoland, my personal favourite troop that satisfied the inner geek the most would be Roleplay Convention. @captsafe66 36 troops so far, you're a beast, sir ! Quote
Clamps[TK] Posted October 15, 2012 Report Posted October 15, 2012 TK-Clamps has had a whopping TWO, that's right TWO troops thus far in 2012... but hey, I just got approved at the end of August, you cannot blame a trooper for that #3 coming up this weekend.... Quote
flashpoint0214[TK] Posted October 15, 2012 Report Posted October 15, 2012 14 troops starting with CVI in Orlando so far. My favorite one so far has been the Give Kids The World Village. But I must say they have all been a pleasure. Quote
Pickles[TK] Posted October 15, 2012 Report Posted October 15, 2012 Nice Mark! That is quite an impressive record. Since becoming 501st a little more than 3 months ago - I have done a grand total of 16 troops! My favorite being Storybook Gardens where I has a blast playing with the kids in the splash pad followed very closely by playing tennis with an adorable kid at the Rogers Cup. Last Saturday when I trooped one of our biker scout members commented on me being the first to arrive and longest in costume and that I have done enough troops now to 'not be so gung-ho about them'. Well I adamantly disagreed with him. I still have the bug and I love it. You can never get enough of the looks on kids faces! Even the 'big kids'! Quote
stormtrooperguy[501st] Posted October 15, 2012 Report Posted October 15, 2012 Not many here. With a newly hatched daughter in January my trooping has dropped off considerably. Just 7 year to date, vs the 20+ I'd typically have done. Quote
Locitus[Admin] Posted October 15, 2012 Report Posted October 15, 2012 Far too few myself. Not many opportunities locally this year sadly. But I got one coming up in December so that might bring the total up to 5 days of trooping. Quote
boomshakra[TK] Posted October 15, 2012 Report Posted October 15, 2012 (edited) Since joining the 501st on 6/30/12 I have done 6 official and 5 'unofficial' troops and have 4 more official on the calendar between now and 12/1/12, and on at least one of those we will be stopping at other venues on the same day. (Edit: My numbers don't include armor parties and Squad lunches - but there have been 4 of those (lunch turned into an armor party after we left the restaurant)). CASA superhero run has been my favorite so far, but I am REALLY looking forward to Wizard World in 2 weeks - it is rumored we'll be Patrick Stewart's escort, but that is unconfirmed at this time Edited October 25, 2012 by boomshakra Quote

captsafe66[Admin] Posted October 17, 2012 Author Report Posted October 17, 2012 Any other additions?? Quote
bluehickey Posted October 17, 2012 Report Posted October 17, 2012 14 so far this year, which is actually lower than normal for me. I blame garrison politics for bringing moral down, but I'm trying to troop regardless. Quote
Clamps[TK] Posted October 17, 2012 Report Posted October 17, 2012 someone wake up TK Kenny, I know he has a PILE of troops. I think he is getting close to 100 troops since his approval in Feb 2011 (if I recall our discussion over the weekend). Not sure how many he has this year though. Quote
89Batman[TK] Posted October 17, 2012 Report Posted October 17, 2012 So far this year I am up to 65 troops. Quote
captsafe66[Admin] Posted October 17, 2012 Author Report Posted October 17, 2012 Very nice!! I wish I had that many chances, Congrats!! Quote
LadyInWhite[TK] Posted October 17, 2012 Report Posted October 17, 2012 I think about 25 or 26 since I was approved in February. And a couple as wrangler/helper. And some TV news appearances that I don't think are kept in our records, or at least not mine. So maybe 30? Favorite: ALL OF THEM! Probably CVI simply for meeting so many awesome people in person. The Price is Right was an awesome experience. I dunno, they're all fun in their own way, I've never been to a troop I didn't leave craving the next one! Quote
magicmemories2[TK] Posted October 17, 2012 Report Posted October 17, 2012 So far I have done fourteen since becoming a member in August, starting with CVl . My most un-forgetful have been "Orlando Childrens Expo" my first shoot-a-trooper experiance then "G.K.T.W." & "Step up for Down Syndrom" Had a "blast with the kids, & fellow troopers. Looking forward for more events. Quote
bobojuice Posted October 17, 2012 Report Posted October 17, 2012 Very few. I'm generally always busy, so I pick and choose which troops I attend. If it's something close or cool I will generally attend. I have too many hobbies to hit every troop like some of the people in my squad. I probably have somewhere between 30 and 40 troops since '09 when I started. Quote
TK-7186[TK] Posted October 17, 2012 Report Posted October 17, 2012 My first troop was in April 2012 and I have done about 9 or 10 so far. Quote
jnnfr72[TK] Posted October 17, 2012 Report Posted October 17, 2012 Congrats on your troops everybody! It IS hard to pick only one favorite, though! I might be up to 1/3 of what Mark's done... I haven't been keeping track. The more TK's I get to troop with the better. I think one of my best troops was one of the hottest... the state fair. It only took me an extra 30 mins of being lost to get there, but after that, it was lots o fun! I harrassed 5 or 6 State Troopers all day long. Teeee heeeee heeee heeeee..... Quote
captsafe66[Admin] Posted October 18, 2012 Author Report Posted October 18, 2012 Here is Jenny at the State Fair. Yea, that is me with her. Here is Jenny, me, Doug Wolter, and Rick Smilely, 4 Members of Fireteam 500! Above is Jenny, Me and Rick Smiley. Quote
TK Keith[TK] Posted October 18, 2012 Report Posted October 18, 2012 I have done two so far, but have three more scheduled. I got to troop at the SF Giants game this year, which was cool. I think my crowning achievement though has been helping my brother join the Legion as a TIE pilot. Quote
Billhag Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 Only 29 for me so far this year (down on last years tally Jan-Oct. by about 10) Over on the UKG all our troops are officially sanctioned (no non-cannon) and have to go through the 'Event Sign Up' system. Each troop you complete / partisipate in is listed on your 'Service Record' and the 'Garrison Service Record' which details the date, event, and costume that you trooped. It's a great system, you can check the details either by the event name, the date, or the members name.It works brilliantly and we have records going way back to 2005 (most priory records were lost when the site went through a forum upgrade back then) I can't really say what my 'best' troop as been so far this year as there have been so many brilliant ones but the most memorable as got to be the one that my granddaughter Meadow got to see me in armour for the first time. She didn't know who I was until I started singing our favourite song (with the odd bit of static burst sneaking in) and she just screamed "GAN-DA!!" Now every time she see's a stormtrooper she thinks it's me,....bless her Quote
Bushido Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 22 official troops and counting. Done some cons and anime gatherings as well. Quote

Darth Hilarious Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 I think I'm in the high teens so far, but that's about to get blown out as I have 4 events this weekend Quote
