Narc[TK] Posted August 21, 2013 Author Report Posted August 21, 2013 I avoided velcro at all costs. Only place you'll find it on my armor is the electronics (fans, amp, icomm). 15mm on the arms is recommended for screen accuracy. I put my rubber gloves with handguards on after my forearms are on. CRL for Centurion does not list a specific size for coverstrips. Remeber you have to fit the armor to your body type. I am really tall compared to the original troopers and I was able to create a Centurion level armor out of RT-MOD. I may have a few things I want to change if I can to make it even more accurate, but that is a project for another day. I want to get trooping! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! So you don't velcro your shin\calves? How you get them on? Quote
Narc[TK] Posted September 5, 2013 Author Report Posted September 5, 2013 Right shin 95% done, left 80, right forearm glued and clamped, 80%,left forearm and both biceps marked ready for trimming. Coming along slowly but Surely . Don't call me Shirley though Quote
Darth Aloha[Admin] Posted September 5, 2013 Report Posted September 5, 2013 Yay for coverstrips on RT-MOD -Eric Quote
Narc[TK] Posted September 5, 2013 Author Report Posted September 5, 2013 Yay for coverstrips on RT-MOD -Eric I used your "if you need a 16mm cover strip, mark your piece with an 8mm scrap piece" Eric!!! Very cool Quote
Narc[TK] Posted March 23, 2014 Author Report Posted March 23, 2014 I am back... Finally got time and another work shop. I am going to try to keep the momentum this time... I have been looking but can't find if anyone has a safe way to remove glue from ABS. I had to pull Velcro and cover strips, I mixed up my placement of both because I mixed up my right and left shin... Any suggestions? Quote
I'm Batman[501st] Posted March 23, 2014 Report Posted March 23, 2014 What sort of glue? Superglue, not much other than sand, then polish Quote
Narc[TK] Posted September 6, 2014 Author Report Posted September 6, 2014 (edited) Been a while... Never mind that. I am working on it again. Glue issues sorted out. Shins repaired. Thighs sized, glued and cover stripped. Have to work on snaps and strapping now. Edited September 6, 2014 by JulioTheGeek Quote
Narc[TK] Posted September 6, 2014 Author Report Posted September 6, 2014 Yay for coverstrips on RT-MOD -Eric Great to meet face-to-face up here in the Great White North! I thought you may appreciate some progress pictures of the butt-and-cover RT-Mod! . Seeing you (and everybody else) in armour sparked my motivation. I want to be in the FanExpo TK march next year, not leading it in civis! 1 Quote
