Nicky Posted September 7, 2012 Report Posted September 7, 2012 Super cool! The photographic lighting makes everything look so clean I want to caress the plastic Quote
troopermaster Posted September 7, 2012 Report Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) Your making very good progress but I have a suggestion about the left ear cap. The way you have it is too long and the lower edge that is designed to be trimmed is left on as seen below. --------- What I suggest you do is trim it more (shown in RED) and it will fit and look much better. ----------- Keep up the good work guys Edited May 2, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link removed no longer working Quote
redbeard[TK] Posted September 7, 2012 Report Posted September 7, 2012 very nice job on the paint sir. looking forward to seeing more pics. Quote
Geaux Saints[TK] Posted September 8, 2012 Report Posted September 8, 2012 Great job so far. What strength (pull lbs.) magnets did you get? Is that strength effective enough? How many magnets do you think would be enough to have for your build? Thanks. I have TM armor on the horizon and can't wait to get started. Quote
hanspl[TK] Posted September 9, 2012 Author Report Posted September 9, 2012 (edited) Thank you all for the good feedback! The paint job is done by TK-3664. He have helped me a lot! I bought some magnets from trooperbay and lend some from the fellow tk that helps me with the build. But I got 40 magnets on the way and they have strength N48 and that will hold. But I would not go any lower than 48. and you can never have enough magnets! Edited May 2, 2022 by gmrhodes13 link removed no longer working Quote

hanspl[TK] Posted October 6, 2012 Author Report Posted October 6, 2012 Hows the progress? Been a few days now, and you're sooo close! TK-8505 is working on the boots and the detonator atm and I have worked a lot on fitting the armor. Have waited some time for several parts to arrive too, but now they are all here Have worked on belt, drop boxes, sniper plate too. Will submitt more pictures after next build day. Hope it will be very soon. Then I will almost be done! Quote
hanspl[TK] Posted October 10, 2012 Author Report Posted October 10, 2012 Build day 5 & 6 Day 5: TK-8505 and TD-6237 came over to help me on the build. We trimmed drop-boxes, and parts on the detonator, did some of the elastic and we shortened on of the Xl shins with 35 mm. I got shins from TM that are 75 mm longer than usual, but I had to trim them. Day 6: My TK build buddy TK-3664 came once again to build. We are going to build some tonight too as I got the shimming plastic from TM today. We worked very effectively and did a lot in just 3 hours. We got to trim the other shin, began the work on the belt, trimmed some more parts, glued all the last snap plates, began to fit and assembly the armor. The snap and elastic system is almost done. We also glued the sniper plate to the left shin and fastened the ammo belt to the right thigh. After tonight my build will almost be finished. (95 %). We are going to work on the belt and the shimming plastic. Here are some pictures: The front and back soon done Left side of the ammo belt Sniper plate getting glued Shins done! Only need to wash away some markings on them Trimmed drop box parts Chaos! Some snap plates getting glued Canvas belt fastened to the ab plate More pictures will come tomorrow as we are going to build more today! Soon reporting for duty! Quote
hanspl[TK] Posted October 11, 2012 Author Report Posted October 11, 2012 Test photo from yesterday We can call it a demo picture. The shoulders have no elastics around them, glued it rigth after the picture was taken. Now they look Rotj-ish xP There is some tape on the bicep and there are no button cover on the belt. Everything is fixed now tho. Had the armor on to measure some elastic lengths and how much shimming that was needed for centurion The armor will be done next week! Can't wait Quote
