OK, I just read the link for this helmet and It is indeed very cool. BUT...I'm not sure what sets this helmet appart from others.

Well for starters the 2 closest helmets to the screen are TE's and Gino's. Both claim to be descendants of 2 original screen used helmets. You can't find a better pedigree than that. TE made his helmets readily available and Gino didnt. I believe that accounts for the difference in price.

 

Metaphor time

A man makes a renowned superb sportscar and releases 1000 of them in the color red for $250,000.

He also makes a single one in black. The black one sells for $500,000 because of its uniqueness.

There is a ton more that makes my helmets stand out from the other makers, but I really don't want to get into another debate/argument/flame war over it. Because thats what will happen once I start explaining it.

Guys - vendors have the right to sell his items for what the market will bear. Perhaps for you it's not worth the money, for someone else it is. If you don't think it's worth the price then don't buy it. If you think there's an identical substitute for less, then you're certainly free to create a thread about it elsewhere.
