Ravenwood[TK] Posted February 4, 2013 Author Report Posted February 4, 2013 Good luck on your first troop Jeremy Good Luck, and have fun! Thanks guys, this will be my first troop in armor so should be interesting. This will be an uunofficial Legion troop for me, as I am not officiallycleared, but have been given permission to do this troop. I am excited to see how it all goes the first time out in armor. I then have a night parade troop on Saturday I think I will wear my TK to, I was going to wear my Jedi Quote
Ravenwood[TK] Posted February 5, 2013 Author Report Posted February 5, 2013 WoW I hot glued the foam on the bottom inside of the thighs and what a difference, they feel more secure and line up nice too. I have a nice tube I store my armor in, but have come to realize that it is gonna be a pain in the a very impolite person caring it any distance. May have to consider a different storage/transportation idea. Quote
Kessel Run[TK] Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 (edited) I picked up one of these http://cache.vendari...t_uid_202300294 50 gallon job box has wheels an extendable handle and is lockable. $68. everything fits fine and easy to move around. I may just have to pick up one of these. Quote
Kessel Run[TK] Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 (edited) couple of the guys around here have them. its really handy, and with the handle it rolls around like a big suitcase with ease. I found it in the hardware section of home depot with the tool boxes not in the storage tub section, i drove all over town looking for it in the wrong place lol. Kessel Run[TK] Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 Good luck on your Troop tonight Jeremy! I wanna see some pics! Quote
Ravenwood[TK] Posted February 6, 2013 Author Report Posted February 6, 2013 Thanks Sam, I am gonna try to stop by a Home Depot and pick up one of those Job Boxes on the way there I am hoping some one brings a camera Quote
Ravenwood[TK] Posted February 7, 2013 Author Report Posted February 7, 2013 Well I survived my first TK troop and only drew a little blood. I for sure need to trim more out of the back of the right thigh knee oche. All in all the armor held up great and I had a fantastic time. I will need to make a few adjustments before the parade on Saturday night though. Quote
gmrhodes13[Staff] Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 Well done Jeremy, I'm still waiting to get a few armor bites lol Quote
Ravenwood[TK] Posted February 7, 2013 Author Report Posted February 7, 2013 Thanks Sam, it was a lot of fun and now I know what works and what didn't lol. With out a ddoubtI will be trimming more out of the back of the knees on the thighs for mmobilityand comfort. The torso felt great, so its just those pesky thighs again. I think I will add a second snap to the torso where the thighs snap in, one is not enough and they popped a few times, which let the thighs drop. I really thought these thighs had given me enough trouble putting them together, but nooooo lol. Quote

Kessel Run[TK] Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 (edited) good ole trial and error. or failing that a rool of white gaffa tape.. I tore my thighs apart again and they feel alot better now. are you using a strap straight from your ab to the thighs or are you using a garter system. I found the garter to work a little better but everyone has an opinion. Glad you had fun cant wait to see some pics! Edited February 7, 2013 by Spector Quote
Ravenwood[TK] Posted February 7, 2013 Author Report Posted February 7, 2013 I snap my thighs to my torso seems to work nice for me. I know a ton of photos were taken just don't know where they will be posted. Quote

Ravenwood[TK] Posted February 8, 2013 Author Report Posted February 8, 2013 I woke up and checked my emails this morning and............. Now to get those mods done today so I can do my first official 501st Troop on Saturday. Very excitting stuff. Now to get my EIB application in Quote
Kessel Run[TK] Posted February 8, 2013 Report Posted February 8, 2013 (edited) Woot! WOOT!! Get that EIB brother. mine might be a little bit as I tore some things apart again, just cause I was bothered by small details..... Edited February 8, 2013 by Spector Quote
Ravenwood[TK] Posted February 8, 2013 Author Report Posted February 8, 2013 Thanks guys now for EIB fingers crossed. Quote
Ravenwood[TK] Posted February 9, 2013 Author Report Posted February 9, 2013 Thanks Glen. just in time I have another troop this Saturday and then another next sunday..... Quote
Ravenwood[TK] Posted February 11, 2013 Author Report Posted February 11, 2013 I think I will try making a garter to hold these thighs in place better and replace the elastic with a nylon strap too. The elastic attached to the torso worked OK, but I think a garter will work better. I am also going to use the TK radio chatter from the 501st forums on the small MP3 player/speaker I have that I use in my Rebel Pilot helmet. I have velcroed the MP3 player/speaker into the inside of the chest plate and it seems to sounds great. not to loud but loud enough to be effective. Quote
Clamps[TK] Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 Definitely recommend the chatter file, its a nice add on for some troops. Quote
Ravenwood[TK] Posted February 12, 2013 Author Report Posted February 12, 2013 (edited) Finally have pictures from my first troop in armor before I got my 501st clearance. this was a fun night. I am the TK to the right on the first photo and the left on the second one. Edited February 12, 2013 by Ravenwood Quote
